Can god of war be played on PC Pentium D

You should check the minimum requirements for the version of the software that you want to run. My personal experience with that processor is that it is a very capable dual core and will run any PC game out there as long as the rest of your hardware is working. Some more intensive applications may have better results when the system is optimized for that application (like killing unnecessary processes and setting rendering preferences to be less CPU intensive) but memory will probably be a bigger factor for you than the processor.
