What are some programs to help you get started making video games

A good program i use is unity 3d, it looks hard at first, but there are lots of tutorials on youtube to get you started, and if you already know JavaScript it will be somewhat easier. Here is the link: Unity3d.com

It is completely free unless you want to buy the pro version, with the free version you can basically do games as good as with the pro version except with the pro version your games will look better.
