How do you get VR in Mariokart 7

VR is a multiplayer feature that existed in both Mariokart Wii and Mariokart 7. You earn VR by competing in worldwide races (not in community races). The better you place, the more VR you earn. However, in many cases, placing last will get VR taken off of you.
