What are some arguments against violent video games
The games are excessively, and on-screen violent. Ironically, the earliest video games, which came out around l97l or so were not violent or even aggressive. they took the form of representing a game such as Table Tennis, essentially on a flat ( actually Hyperbolic, but flat is close enough) television screen. they used black and white characters ( like telegraphic dots and dashes< the dashes being the ping-pong bats) and an unreasonable facsimile of a ping-pong game was the general idea- these could be played by two people, also. Then along came the idea of hitting a target with a photoelectric gun ( already being done in non-video arcade games such as carnival sharpshooter) from their the course got rough and violence oriented- which goes over well, tragically. They are inherently anti-social and also asocial (generaly one person plays at a time) and are as stated nearly all violent. Non-violent video games did exist but did not fare well in the arcades, money wise.
