Hi,

I remember some years ago now, we at TransAction Translators localised Peppa Pig for the Nintendo DS or some other handheld console into various western European languages. On top of the script for the voiceover artists and the text that appears on-screen, this included the manual as well, so in total there were just over 6000 words and the charge was around GBP 900. It was a long time ago now, so charges will have changed.

It all depends on the languages involved and the quality of translation you require. We have project managed quite a few games over the years, so after checking the translations ourselves, we always recommended that the client got native language speakers to test the games to see that the translations fit.

We never heard back on whether they did this or not and certainly never got feedback on what should be changed etc. Therefore I would recommend you get as many pairs of eyes involved in the testing and get good communication going with whoever you end up using to localise your game.

Hope this helps! :0)
