How was the video game used when invented

Since a video game is supposed to be interactive. It was used interactively. The first console game was Pong. Two people sat next to each other, facing a TV. Their are to wired controls with a joystick on them. The object of the game was to beat the other player by using the joystick to position the blocker to bounce the ball past there blocker.
