Why in Animal Crossing sometimes freeze

animal crossing might freeze because maybe you got your game card wet or your there is something wrong with your ds. when i yelled at my mom, she put my animal crossing game in her old iced tea!! so when she gave it back to me, it froze while i was playing it. so maybe that's the case?
