What is the Steamweedle Cartel in World of Warcraft

The Steamwheedle Cartel is currently the largest Goblin trade cartel on Azeroth, having multiple outposts whose Neutrality is (begrudingly) acknowledged by the local government. They deal in everything from weapons to illicit substances, and their cross-faction Auction House is widely known and used.

In Cataclysm, rumors are that the Bilgewater Cartel, allied with the Horde, will be of almost similar size and power, and migh become a threat to the monopoly of the Steamwheedle Cartel.

Their other competitors, the Venture Company, are also widely present but routinely culled by bounties put out on them by the other Goblins.
