How come my Rock Band microphone is not compatible with other online games like Call of Duty

It simply does not work with CoD or other shooters. It would become unreasonable to use anyway due to the fact that you would have to hold both the controller and microphone to use it, preventing you from both talking AND playing. A headset is always there to use, and is hands-free.
