What was the first game played in the Olympics and who played all girls all boys or boys and girls

Not sure if this counts under Video Games but, what the heck.

In the ancient Olympic Games, popular events were the Javelin and Wrestling. Only Men competed in the ancient Greek games. The point of the games were to show off how well warriors could perform in the battle field.

The first Modern Olympic Games were held in Athens, Greece in 1896. I believe the first event held was the 100 Meter dash. Tom Burke of the USA took Gold in this event. Only Men competed in the games at this time.
