Is there a way to get Kingdom Hearts 2 final mix in north America

As Kingdom Hearts 2: Final Mix+ was never released outside of Japan, it is difficult to obtain a copy in other regions.

One possible way of obtaining a copy is to import a Japanese PS2 (due to PS2 games being region-locked) and a Japanese copy of the game from an import website such as Play-Asia. This will allow you to have the game and play it, but has the distinct disadvantages of being very expensive, and requiring knowledge of Japanese to fully enjoy the game.
