How do you make courier missions and trade routes safe in EVE Online

Most haulers have a minimum of one mid slot and one high slot. Simply train the needed skills to fit a ECM - Multispecular Jammer in your mid slot. Once activated the jammer will disrupt the targeted ship causing it to be unable to lock on target to you and fire upon you. I personally fit around 2-3 with me at all times while running Level 4 courier missiong. For your high slot fit a Prototype Cloaking Device. You are not able to cloak if an enemy ship has locked target to you, hince the reason to use jammers. Once cloaked try to fly in a direction the enemies would not expect, such as directly up or down. For low slots I fit 2-3 Warp Core Stablizers that will help overpower an enemies Warp Scramblers that will prevent you from warping.
