How did the Rock Band people get permission to make a video game out of The Beatles

The story is long and complex:- to license The Beatles® you need to have dealings with EMI, Sony/ATV, Harrisongs, Apple Corps ... and many other copyright holders.

But initial contact seems to have been with George Harrison's son Dhani.



Apple Corps, the Beatles's own company, licensed their music and images for a version of Rock Band. So blame the band themselves.
