On Shadow of the Colossus how do you beat the final colossus

ah, the giant stone man in a dress. quite an amazing feat, in gaming and quality since it's on the PS2.
what you wanna do is to start out, when he shoots at you, hide behind those walls all over the field. obviously, start with the closest one. when he isn't shooting, run between walls. some will have tunnels under them. run them until you get to one that takes you to the side of the cliff. another tunnel will be there that takes you underneath skirt-boy. then you start scaling his skirt, on the front or back, but once you get to where you can climb no higher, get to his back. there will be a stab thingy. stab it and his hand comes down. jump onto it. then he should lift it up and wiggle it or something. i think--this is where it gets blurry--that you need to shoot his other hand or something. then ride that hand, climb his shoulder-armor, stab the next spot and jump back on the hand. then shoot his shoulder, jump off onto it when you get close, and climb up to the top of his head. from here on, just stab his thick skull. if you start running out of grip, climb off his head and stand on his back for a bit.
