Is there any way to get around the Pixel Shader requirements for a video game
Sometimes, yes. The most notable example is a program called "3DAnalyze." This free program will emulate the missing features for the game, allowing you to play it (though the game may play too slow to be worthwhile). Some games will also have unofficial patches to work on weaker video cards. Overall, though, you are usually better off buying a new video card.
