What is smoothing in tf2

Probably refers to framerate smoothing. Often times when you get fps lag, it will make what's happening on your screen jerky and unpredictable. Framerate smoothing is a special process that attempts to make the game more playable. It usually drops the framerate, but makes it more consistant (it won't freeze every few seconds, but instead is slower and easier to play (and run)).
