How do you add planes onto fsx
There are various ways to add aircraft to FSX. It all depends on the contents of the folder. It doesn't matter from which site you download it from. Let's go through the first procedure.

It's a complex procedure and be CAREFUL. If you're not careful, you could potentially mess up the way FSX works.

1. Click start
2. Click my computer
3. Click "Local Disk"
4. Click Program Files
5. Click Microsoft Games
6. Click Microsoft Flight Simulator X
7. Click Simobjects
8. Click Airplanes

Now, the airplanes folder has all your default aircraft. In order to add another aircraft, download one, and put it on your desktop, or a folder in your local disk that contains your downloads that will be put into your airplanes folder. Here's the procedure for the common types, always check what the folder looks like so you know what to do;

If you open the folder and there is an installer/no sub folder, extract it. If it's an installer, open the installer and select run. The wizard will guide you through the process. If it a no sub folder one, extract, and copy the folder holding all the contents and put it in the airplanes folder.

If it IS a sub folder download, copy the sub folder and paste it into the airplanes folder.

Some downloads require tweaking with panels and gauges. Hopefully someone can extend my response to your question.

These are two good sites for downloading airplanes and helicopters;
www.simnetwork.com
www.simviation.com

Good luck with the downloading. Not all downloads work. But most of them do. Remember to SCAN the downloads for viruses BEFORE putting it into your airplanes folder!
