How do you stop the forge droids in Star Wars knights of the old republic

I think they just keep respawing forever. Just run along the hall and there should be a door, where malak awaits. If you notice each droid has a letter assaigned to them such as "Droid A", "Droid B" so maybe there is only 26 droids for each letter of the alphabet.
