You plant a money tree with a golden shovel. But it is not guaranteed that you will get money growing on it. If you planted 1,000 bells you would have a 1% chance of it growng. If you planted 10,000 bells there would be a 10% chance of it growing. When it grows there wil be three bags of 30,000 bells on the tree. But it only grows money once. After you've collected you're money it will become a normal tree.
