How do sims use magic

Sims can only use magic if you have the Sims 2 Apartment Life expansion pack, which is available in stores. (I think) Your sims can become witches or warlocks (male witches) and cast spells, have feline familiars (cats), and create potions and stuff like that. That's all I know and I hope it helped you! :)
