Yes he was sad not cause Aerith died right before his eyes but also cause his best friend Zack died too fighting off Shin-Ra whole army and the fact he was also afraid he might also Lose Tifa and the family the two created in seventh heaven or even anyone else who he journeyed with...heck the final straw was when he contacted Geostigma while looking for a cure for Denzel which made him see himself unfit to well protect anyone close to him.


but after AC's conclusion he finally got out of his fear, doubts and sadness and well started being happy again (eventually I hope Nomura would bring back the old Cloud where he was goofy and well a little bit of a dork but still a badass Motherf**ka)


the only person I see in the FFVII universe to carry a heavy burden of loss and grief is Vincent Valentine the man had it hard
