What is a dragon ball

the dragon balls are 7 little golden balls with stars on them ( the 1 star dragon ball has 1 star, the 2 star dragon ball has 2 stars ect.)
finding the seven dragon balls was the whole point of the show dragonball, they were scattered around the world, when you collect all of them you can summon shenron the dragon who will grant you wishes, afterwards they will scatter all around the world again

right but it was actually one big dragonball at first but then selfishness occured so it was split into 7 smaller ones so there wouldn't be as much usage
