Will Vista know if you are downloading a torrent

Simply, No, on the other hand your ISP can see that your downloading files if they really look into you web usage. But all internet files being downloaded look the same unless they look into the information and IP location. and unless you are downloading hundreds of torrents they wont even bother looking. If you get caught the worst they can do is a cease and desist notice.
