What does the name Kirby mean

Kirby is a video game character. In Japan, he's called Kābī. He is a friendly fun-loving pink ball of fluff, who will nonetheless eat everything in his way! His first appearance was the game for the Nintendo Entertainment System, "Kirby's Dream Land (Hoshi No Kabi, 1992)." He has been included in many subsequent Nintendo "battle" games.
