Can X-box games be used on the xbox 360

The xbox 360 is fairly backwards compatible and can play several if not most of the original xbox games. However, some of these games require updates from the Xbox live online service to run certain older games. There are a few games that are not able to play on the Xbox 360 for various reasons. There should be a list of backwards compatible games online.
