How could you read the contents of a game CD and burn an iso image out of it

If you are talking about PS-1 or PS-2 games, then you can't read most of the contents (only video & audio). You need Image making softwares like Isobuster, Alcohol 120% or DVD-Decrypter. I recommend Isobuster. Read the guide in Isobuster for further details.
