How can you make sure you have the latest dx files

Go to Run and type dxdiag There you can see everything about direct-x and your GPU( Graphic card) & SPU( Sound card) See the direct x version in the systems tab it should be 9.0c In the directx files tab, you can see below 'Notes' in which you can find any problem in dx files (if there is).
