What does a game designer do
A game designer creates or develops/refines the concepts for a game
(e.g. story, type of game, overall design) and directs developers
(writers, programmers, texture and graphics artists, 3D modelers,
mapmakers, etc) in the creation of a game. With small and
independent games, the designer will usually take on development
roles themselves, but with larger games, they have more of a
directive role and keep their publishers and managers up-to-date on
the progress of the game in addition to providing direction to the
development team.
