No. Team Fortress 2 is made by a reputable company (Valve- Steam), so it's very safe to use their products. However, this game does have multiplayer functionality so be careful not to go into shady servers because there might be vulnerabilities that allows them to harm your computer.

Not really, TF2 isn't a demanding game at all. That is, unless you
have a potato for a PC. For the most part, if you have a somewhat
good computer, it'll run no problem. If you have a slightly above
average computer then it'll run butter-smooth. But if you have an
old/bad laptop/PC, then it will start to lag a little. Especially
with matches with 20+ people. There are many ways to combat this
lag, however. For starters, you can optimise your graphics in
'video settings', which will provide a nice boost to your gameplay
FPS without looking (too) horrible. It's best to turn the model
detail down to around about medium, if you want a quick and easy
FPS fix. Another popular way to improve fps is to download 'Chris'
FPS configs'. You can find heaps of tutorials on youtube on how to
download them, and installing these correctly will either boost
your fps with the cost of graphical quality, or give more graphical
quality with a downside to fps, depending on which one you
download.
