When do the new stronger units get introduced in the Rome total war imperial campaign when you play as one of the roman factions

When you go through the Marian Reform, basically all of your units get transormed into more powerful versions (such as the Urban Cohort), and you cannot train any more of the previous type of units, (such as Hastati). I dont remember exactly when the reform is though. It's kind of a global event.
