First, I would type up a sample survey that you would use to ask people what their favorite game is. Then, you should talk to your counselor or principal about having copies made and passed out around the school, for the students to fill out and turn in to their teachers. Finally, you will need to collect the completed surveys from your counselor/principal, and count out how many of each choice everybody voted for.
