How do you defeat Vader in the DS version fo the force unleashed 2
I spent all day figuring this out, and I'm sure that I spent as much time just trying to take down Vader as I did for the entire rest of the game, which shows just how short of a game it is. It will be even shorter if you follow through with these recommendations instead of trying to figure it out on your own. So here is the strategy that I used to finish him off:

First Vader Encounter

Here you will battle Vader three times before he runs off to the location of the final battle. First, run to the bottom of a hill and to the middle of the room, Vader will greet you in a cinematic. Then he'll come down to battle you. The entire fight with Vader will be extremely repetetive, adding an extra variable or two to the mix at each level.

Start out by coaxing him to use a saber attack, back off and wait for him to pause. Then go after him with a slash, slash, slash. Repeat this until he lifts you up into the air and then runs off. You'll likely get a few chances to use force lightning on him, if you use it quickly enough it will push Vader back off the map while damaging him more.

When Vader leaves, he'll release a couple of clones to attack you. Equip force push and knock them over. Then continuously attack them with the slash, slash, down combo to keep them off their feet. When they both die, Vader will drop a staircase down for you. Jump up it quickly to avoid the objects he's throwing at you. Use the same tactic as before once you get to Vader's level. I found that the easiest way to avoid his slashes is to stand at the edge of the walkway. He almost never gets close enough to hit you there. Continue to slash him apart until he lifts you up and runs away again. Three more clones will appear, whom you can defeat with the same tactic as you used on the first pair.

Vader will drop another staircase for you so that you can approach him for the third battle. You can still avoid his saber attacks by standing on the edge of the walkway, but he will also drop back every now and then into a defensive posture. When he's doing this, just drop down off the edge until he shoots his force blast over you. Then get back up and take him down the same way as the last time. He'll eventually give up and run off to an elevator where he'll wait for you at the final battle.

Final Vader Battle

When you follow Vader up the elevator shaft a cinematic will begin. After the cinematic Vader will attack with a saber swipe. Wait for Vader to pause after his first attack and then counter with a slash, slash, slash. Now make sure that you have the lightning force power equipped. Stand back out of the way of Vader's next group of attacks then quickly attack him again with another slash, slash, slash. Now you should be prompted to use your force power. Strike him with lightning, and if he gets pushed backwards (sometimes he'll just absorb it), wait until he backs off the screen then charge him and push him back once more with the lightning. Afterwards wait for Vader to attack with another lightsaber folley and repeat the previous steps.

The idea is to push Vader back into an electric pole on the right side of the map 3-4 times, which will take away his health. Keep an eye on his power meter though. Once the blue in his power meter disappears, he'll engage you in a face-to-face saber battle. Swipe the screen in the direction of the green arrow when it appears. After about five swipes, you'll go into a saber lock with Vader. Just tap the screen like a Morse code operator on crack. If you do this quickly enough, not only will you win the saber lock, but you'll also push Vader back onto his rear, where after he gets up you can push him back further with another jolt of lighting.

Pay attention to when Vader drops back into a defensive posture. He is preparing to send a red ball of force power at you, which will knock you down unless you jump over it. You can't attack when he does this, so just make sure to stand back far enough that you'll be able to jump over it when you see him push out his attack. Then get back into the fight, waiting for Vader's saber attack.

Once you beat Vader, a cinematic will begin that leads into giving you the option of whether or not to execute him. Your choice leads to one of two separate end cinematics.

Notes

Stay close to Vader until he starts his saber attack, and then quickly move out of the way. That will keep him from moving too far and make it faster for you to defeat him.

Don't ever try to jump over Vader. It doesn't matter where he is, or what is going on. Once you get over the top of Vader, he will instantly return to a standing posture and grab you with his force grip. After choking you for a few seconds, he'll throw you backwards to the ground and you'll be backed further into a corner.

Whenver you die the equipped force power swithes back to push. This slowed down my progress a few times, because I was not ready with the lightning when I needed it. Always remember to re-equip the lightning after you die.

The only force power that affects Vader is lightning. Don't try to use the others against him. They'll only help him back you into a corner.

In the final battle, if Vader backs you over to the left side of the screen you will come into contact with a second electric pole. You'll be stunned for a few seconds while Vader slashes you to pieces, so make sure that you're always the one driving him backwards.

It doesn't seem to help to stand in the middle of Vader's attacks and try to block them. Just get out of the way until he pauses for a second. There will then be enough time to hit him at least three times, and maybe even 5-shots, but don't try to do too much or Vader will make you pay for it. Just be patient and stay out of his way.

Dieing will either bring you back to the top of the hill, where you will need to start the entire sequence over, or to the beginning of the final battle if you have made it that far.
