What were video games like in the past
When video games were first brought to the home consoles, they were made using pixel art, today a novelty. Some of the first video game consoles were '8-bit' which meant that each character sprite (model) used eight pixels each. In the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (or the Super Famicom) used 16-bit graphics, doubling the detail of games. Other video game consoles at the time of the SNES utilized 32-bit graphics, but offered game-play that was a inferior to the SNES, which actually featured a microchip that allowed for 32-bit games; this chip was taken advantage of by Square Enix (then called Square Soft) in the Super Mario RPG games. Later there were 64-bit graphics, and now we have even better graphics than that.
