Can you play as both a boy and a girl in fossil fighters

You play as a boy and get masks that let you look like a female throughout the game.


I beat the game on my son's DS, my daughter then played the game on her DS, she created a female character. I have been trying to create a female character on her DS on her own FF game but have been unsuccessful.
