How do you unlock amazeon level in carnival mini golf for Wii

Supposedly, you have to get the puzzle piece for at least two of the holes in Pirate's Delight...but my 5 year old has all the pieces in every other area, and still Amazeon will not unlock :-(

You have to get par or better on two holes, but if you play multiplayer, play item competition and win the club to that world first it will not unlock it. you have to play again in item competition, bet that club and lose it. then, go back to that world and play solo and get par or better on two courses in that world and it will unlock. I figured it out the hard way.
