It is a virtual world for teens and preteens. There are other real people you can safe chat (click on a pre-typed safe message such as "hello") or super chat (type your own message under supervision from real people making sure no one is being mean) with a parent's permission. Add friends and send gifts or throw things like pies at them. It's safe, and fun. You can change clothes, hair, and accessories that you buy with your own money. You can explore and earn spenders (money) and age points by playing awesome games. Age points are what your avatar needs to progress (age) through the world. With each new age, you get a birthday present such as a pet, an apartment, the ability to through a party, etc.You start out as ten years old, and you can't turn thirteen unless you have a paid membership. Paid memberships unlock more clothes, places, furniture, etc. They cost five dollars a month, or thirty dollars a year.
