There are a lot of good Assassin’s Creed Revelations players out there. Escoblades, Loomer, BigTime, and pretty much everyone who placed well in the T3 Brotherhood tournament.
But one name that hasn’t nearly gotten the attention it deserves is The Mighty Astlan. He’s a top rate player who makes great commentaries with a lot of unique insight into Assassin’s Creed multiplayer mechanics.
So, why haven’t you heard of him? Damned if I know, but I first heard of him when I caught him whoring out his videos in the GameFAQs Brotherhood forums.
“Doesn’t this guy know I’m the only one allowed to whore out my content on GameFAQs?” I thought to myself. But as I spied on his videos in the hopes of finding a weakness of his I could exploit, I slowly began to realize The Mighty Astlan wasn’t a joke at all. He was a worthy rival.
Of course, he plays on PS3, so we could never actually duel one another, but his skills and editing were formidable nonetheless. Now, Astlan has always been a team gameplay superstar first and foremost, whereas I’ve always favored free-for-all multiplayer. That’s good news for you if you’ve followed my channel(s) and generally felt I’ve lagged behind in the team-oriented match department. You could stand to learn a thing or ten from TMA.
In his Brotherhood videos, Astlan explained a lot of the stun mechanics I later incorporated into my strategies. He showed off both obvious and hidden attributes of certain situations, with a lot of well pointed analysis at every minute of his matches. In Revelations, he continues the tradition. The following, recent video is a great showcase of his abilities, and also a solid demonstration of ways to set up un-counterable kills, easy stuns, and good lines of pursuit to one’s target(s). Check it out:
And just for shits and giggles, The Mighty Astlan and some buddies put together a video demonstrating the “highest score kill possible” in Revelations. While I can’t prove it’s the highest, I can say it’s damn impressive. The planning alone would be quite the hassle.
If you like what you see, go check out The Mighty Astlan’s YouTube channel. Encourage him to pump out more ACR and hey – tell’em WiNGSPANTT sent ya.
