Assassin’s Creed III: Liberation – Bayou Fever & Mushrooms Guide

There are a few different side missions and collectibles found in Assassin’s Creed III: Liberation. One side mission involves using mushrooms to cure various people who have an illness. Curing all the people will unlock the Bayou Fever silver trophy or achievement. Finding all the mushrooms to cure the people will also grant players another trophy or achievement – Mushroom Queen. Memory - Bayou Fever

To start curing victims, you need to complete the side memory Bayou Fever. This becomes available after you finish Memory 2-6 – Eve of Saint John. It appears to the north of the bayou town. During this mission, you will learn how to cure people who are suffering from the illness.

To complete the memory, follow the houngan’s instructions. First, gather the three mushrooms. A marker will show up to lead you to them. Use them to find all three, and be quick. You only have three minutes. Once you have them all, return to the houngan. Next you’ll need to subdue the patient.

The patient has to be downed in order to administer the medication. Aveline’s fists will be automatically selected, so go ahead and punch the sick people. Knock them all out so the houngan can administer the medication. This will end the memory, and now you’ll be able to find mushrooms and cure patients on your own.  

Mushrooms

Mushrooms will show up on your map after you complete the Bayou Fever memory. Now, from the events in that memory, you probably think you need the mushrooms to cure the fevered people. This is not the case. You can actually cure the people without any mushrooms in your inventory. However, you will need to find all 10 mushrooms if you want to get the Mushroom Queen achievement or trophy. 

All the mushrooms are found in the bayou. If you spot one with Eagle Vision, it will show up on your map. Use your Eagle Vision as much as possible to uncover all the collectibles. If you are having trouble, know that:

• there are two in the big area below the northern area with buildings
• one in the small area just southwest of this big area
• two are slightly southwest of the area below the northern area with building (but above the big area below)
• one is slightly west of the town
• one is on the east across from the town
• one is in the northeast corner
• one is located east of the bridge joining the two big areas
• and one is far south, just a little east from the center of the map

Fevered Patients

There will be nine fevered patients that you have to cure in order to get the trophy or achievement Bayou Fever. They are all found scattered across the bayou. You can find them by using your map – they appear as little skulls. Remember, for whatever reason you don’t actually need the mushrooms. If you need help finding all of the people, they are located as follows:

• one is to the north of the northern area with structures
• two are located on the southwest side of the map, one near the edge and one more central
• one is found near the center of the map, but a little westward
• one is found in the south central area
• one is found in the southeast corner
• one is found southwest of the town
• one is in the northeast section
• and one is in the town, on the northwest side.
