Tomodachi Life – Buildings List

In the new simulation game Tomodachi Life, new buildings will unlock on the island as you experience different events. Filling up your island will ensure you have plenty for your islander Miis to do! Luckily, most of them are easy to unlock, and you'll get them pretty quickly. Want to know what you're missing? Check out our definitive list.

Buildings

Amusement Park

This place unlocks after any islander confesses their love to someone else. There is a magic show here from 10-11am, and you can play Tomodachi Quest here once daily. There is also a night market here.

Beach

You will unlock this area after you have 16 or more islanders living in your apartment building.

Café

This place also unlocks after an islander confesses their love for someone else. There will be hangouts held here randomly. 

Campground

This area appears after you have sent a travelers from your island and have a traveler visit your own island.

Clothing Store

This store opens once you have more than one male and one female islander. Before it unlocks, you also need to solve 5 islander problems. The clothes change daily and from season to season.

Compatibility Test

To unlock this, you need to have at least 2 male and 2 female islanders. You'll also need to have solved at least 30 problems.

Concert Hall

To unlock this building, you need to give a song to an islander after they level up. Songs can be performed here, either solo or with a band. Islanders can only sing songs you have given them.

Food Mart

This is the food store, and it's available from the start. There are new foods and drinks sold here daily.

Fountain

This is automatically unlocked through the tutorial. You can come here every day for donations from your islanders. There is also the Morning Market here from 6-7am, and a rap battle in the evening.

Hat Store

To unlock the hat store, you need to have 2 or more male and two or more female islanders. You will also need to solve 10 islander problems. The hats available change daily and from season to season. 

Import Wear

After you communicate with someone via streetpass, you'll unlock this shop. There will be new spotpass items twice each month for the first year. Import items from streetpasses can also be found here.

Interiors

This store unlocks after you have over $200 saved. The store will sell new interior designs each day, and one that varies depending on the month. There will also be a special interior based on the level of your islanders.

Mii Apartments

This one is already on the island, but it will upgrade as you get more islanders. It starts with three stories and 24 rooms, and grows to hold 100 rooms! The office is also here for managing your islanders.

Mii Homes

This area unlocks after your first Mii islander wedding. Married couples live here, but you can still see them at their apartment too.

Mii News

The Mii News building will unlock once you have seven islanders, at least 3 male and 3 female. The building will have news delivered by one of your Mii's after 7:00am and 7:00pm every day. You can also check out old news.

Nintendo 3DS Image Share

This becomes available after you take a picture of an islander's apartment or something on the island.

Observation Tower

To unlock this building, you need to give a gift to an islander who levels up. Miis can visit the tower, and there is a Quirky Questions game you can play if you have over 10 islanders.

Park

The park will unlock after an islander confesses their love for someone else. There are many different things here, from flying disc games to BBQs to the Afternoon Market.

Pawn Shop

This building will unlock after you receive 5 different treasures. You can sell things here.

Photo Studio

This building unlocks after you have at least 10 islanders and solve at least 50 problems. This place allows you to take pictures of your Miis! You can take pair, group, whole island, or child pictures.

Port

You unlock this by activating your streetpass for the game. To do this, you will first need to unlock the hat store. Once this is open, you can send travelers and streetpass.

Rankings Board

This board unlocks after you have 5 or more islander and after you solve at least 15 islander problems. There are ten different ratings you can check out, but they aren't all unlocked from the start.

• Boy Charm – This one opens up after a girl confesses her love to another islander.

• Friendship – This unlocks after you have tested the compatibility rating between 10 same sex islanders.

• Girl Charm – This one opens up after a boy confesses his love to another islander. 

• Island – This ranking unlocks after you have streetpassed with at least 5 people and have a traveler from your island. 

• Pampered – This unlocks when you solve at least 90 islander problems.

• Popularity - This ranking unlocks when you have ten or more islanders.

• Romance – This will open up after you test the compatibility of 10 opposite sex islanders.

• Splurge – This ranking unlocks after you have an islander with items that have a total value of over $1000.

• Traveler – This one will unlock after you streetpass with 10 different people.  

• Vitality – This ranking is automatically unlocked.

Town Hall

This building is also available from the start. New features will be added as you progress through the game.
