Firefly Runner – Tips and Cheats: The Ultimate Strategy Guide

Firefly Runner is a new endless running game for the iOS platform. You star as a firefly who throws apples, and your goal in this endless runner is to rack up the highest score possible. In addition, you can also earn badges of honor depending on how far your firefly runs, and you can rescue your trapped buddies along the way. Read on for some tips and tricks for Firefly Runner!

There are a ton of ways to earn points in this game, besides just running the longest distance possible. The most obvious way, and possibly the best way if you can master the technique, is to flatten yourself out (not bounce up or down) in order to get the most sparkles as possible. Each sparkle that you earn is worth 1,000 points, and usually, these sparkles tend to appear in huge clusters or lines, making it a worthwhile pursuit to earn as many as possible.

So how do you flatten yourself out without bouncing up and down? Do small taps, very short and quick, on the left side of the screen. You almost want to be barely tapping the screen, because if you tap for too long you will launch upward, causing you to miss sparkles and fly way upward. Tap too lightly or too infrequently and you will drop very slowly, but it’s hard to tap too lightly.

Shooting enemies with apples will not only earn you points, but will protect your firefly from harm. However, don’t just shoot apples willy nilly since you have a limited number, and if you need to conserve apples, you will be able to pass any enemy without shooting apples at them. Collect apple clusters when you see them in order to earn ten apples at a time.

Fly through any loop that you might see on the route. When you fly through a loop, your firefly will do a backflip or a front flip and will automatically collect every one of the sparkles that comes after the loop. Usually, this is a pretty substantial amount – somewhere within the 10,000s. Collect anything that sparkles to earn points too, such as keys.

Ants will spring traps on you, and this is the peril that kills the most fireflies by far. There is a fairly easy way to get around it, though. You can fly right through the ants, because they are in the background, not the foreground. Try to time when the ant is going to unleash the dropped anvil on you, so that you can hit a certain elevation to avoid it. Usually, the very top and very bottom of the screen will work every single time for that purpose.
