Simon Miller, Editor-In-Chief - Lara Croft And The Temple of Osiris, Xbox One

As you would expect I saw a lot of games at E3, but one of the more unhyped offerings was the sequel to Lara Croft: Guardian Of Light. Continuing on bizarre subtitles by claiming The Temple of Osiris as its own, it takes the foundations of what came previously and runs with that almost verbatim.

It's a top down, co-op action fest where you mash buttons to kill mythical beasts, and hurl ropes to your companions to ensure they can continue to assist you in your adventure. It's undoubtedly fun, and the lengths Crystal Dynamics has gone to make it accessible are clear. You need about five minutes before it all starts making sense. From that point on it's just a matter of how much entertainment you can get out of it.

Obviously some people were upset that I wasn’t totally enthralled with EA Sports UFC. I’ve been watching MMA since I was 10, when my friends and I would pass around video tapes (remember those?) of some of the classic knockouts from the early UFC and Pride tournaments. Nobody was more excited for EA Sports UFC than me, which is why I was so disappointed by what it lacked.

I’m having fun with the game, but so much is missing that you have to wonder why this game took so long to develop. Big improvements are needed in the next entry for it to even be as good as the THQ offerings.

For those who want to know how EA can make a better game, take a look at my feature that lists a bunch of things that need to be included in the next entry.

I managed to put a measly 45 minutes into the Destiny beta earlier in the week, having been confused about what the game really is ever since its unveiling. Now some 45 minutes of play-time later, I still don't really know the extent of its MMO notions, but I do know that it's a beautiful looking game that feels a lot like Halo with the Biotics of Mass Effect. I'm sure the MMOness would have become clearer had I spent a considerable chunk of time in the game, but it wasn't to be.

Reaction online seems great, with many people choosing to place a pre-order directly after the beta, so in that sense it's done the job for Bungie and Activision. Of all the shooters coming later this year, this is by far the most interesting.
