Hearthstone Guide: Basic Hunter Deck

The starting deck for the Hunter is very aggressive, you will be concentrating on the enemy heroes and finishing them off before they can bring out their big creatures! However try to have a minimum of control over the board so that you don't find yourself facing an army of monsters!

The Key Cards

The key cards are the basic Hunter cards, they rely on the 'beasts'! You can buff your beasts, deal more damage with them or draw more cards easily! All combined with your Hero Power,

• Houndmaster

A card with +2/+2 AND a taunt? What more could you want, this card can transform a little 3-2 raptor into a 5-4 taunt. I'll let you appreciate it's power! On the other hand it only works on the beasts, so you'll need to make sure you keep a beast alive on the board to be able to use your Houndmaster!

• Starving Buzzard

Your 'draw' card! Thanks to its low mana cost you can draw several cards in a single turn! Also if you manage to protect it, you can draw several times! But be careful, you opponent will definately want to kill your Buzzard as quickly as possible.

• Animal Companion

A signature card of the Hunter: For 3 mana you'll find yourself with a 4/4 taunt, a 4/2 charge or a minion buffing your 2/4 creatures. In all cases, this creature will be very strong in turn 3. The taunt allows you to protect the board while dealing 4 damage in the next turn, the charge allows you to be aggressive immediately and the buff will increase your presence during your next turn and make you difficult to take down!

• Kill Command

A very good card that allows you either to bring down a big creature on the board, or deal 5 damage right in the face of your opponent, if you have a beast of course. Moreover, avoid playing this card if you don't have a beast on the board, it would be a bit of a waste! Try to keep this card to finish off your opponent and surprise him!

The Full Deck

Your deck is made up of the best basic Hearthstone cards as well as beasts to buff! Don't hesitate to use your Hero Power if you have nothing better to play, it is very powerful for finishing off your opponent!

Standard moves of a game

Turn 1

Like all or most starter decks, there isn't much to do in turn 1, simply wait for turn 2!

Turn 2-3

If you have the Coin and an 'Animal Companion', play this combo, it is extremely powerful!
Whatever card you get it's an excellent turn 2-3!
If you don't have your animal companion, try to play a River Crocolisk or a Raptor!

Turn 4

If you have a beast on the board then try to buff it with a Houndmaster! Otherwise protect your board with a Sen’jin. You can also clear the board with your Multi-Shot or just use a Yeti to build up your board.

Turn 5-6

It's time to play some big beasts if you have them! Otherwise you can always clear the big enemy beasts with the help of your 'Hunter's Mark'.

Turn 7+

With the help of your charges, your Hero Power and your creatures already in place, try to finish off the enemy hero as quickly as possible!
