Angry Birds 2: How to Make Use of the Birds’ Abilities

Angry Birds 2 has quickly stormed to the top of the app charts. Millions of players are currently fighting their way through the levels trying to destroy each and every one of the Bad Piggies’ fortresses. As always, Rovio has given each bird a unique ability that sets it apart from the others. In Angry Birds 2, there are seven birds in total to choose from, giving you a wide array of tactical choices. In this tip, we want to introduce each and every bird to make sure that you always make the right decision in the game.

Red – The Leader of the Flock

The original member of the Angry Birds.

He is the series’ mascot. Everyone who has heard of Angry Birds knows Red. He was originally the most basic one of the bunch, without any special powers worth mentioning. This has changed in the latest installment of the series, however. In Angry Birds 2, Red can summon a kind of shockwave by tapping the screen. This allows players to knock over really tall buildings with just one bird.

The Blues – The Destructive Trio

The Blues will destroy all icy barriers in Angry Birds 2.

The Blues are massive destroyers – well at least when there’s icy buildings around. When you tap the blue bird during his flight, he splits into a trio, each with a slightly different flight path. One will be further up, one in the middle, and one further down. Since they easily destroy ice but barely do anything against wood or stone, The Blues are best selected when the pigs’ fortress features a lot of ice.

Chuck - The Speedster

Chuck is a speedy bird in the Angry Birds franchise.

Chuck really knows how to destroy wood. The yellow bird gains speed in-flight when you tap your touchscreen. This allows him to dash through any wooden barrier. We don’t recommend that you make him go up against stone walls, however, as he can’t really do much against them.

Silver – The Looping Legend

Silver is the latest addition to the free mobile game.

Silver is the newest addition to the Angry Birds roster. He adds a brand new power to the casual game – the looping. Like a true circus artist, Silver can perform a swift looping in mid-air when you tap the screen. This allows the streamlined bird to attack the enemies in a straight line from above. He can basically destroy anything like this.

Mathilde – Explosive Spirit

Meet Mathilde and her dangerous eggs in Angry Birds 2.

Mathilde is a true powerhouse in the Angry Birds roster. This fierce lady has been in many installments of the series adding a very unique power to each one of the games. Mathilde will drop an explosive egg when you tap the touchscreen. Additionally, she performs a slight bounce in mid-air that will allow her to extend her path.

Bomb – More Explosive Temper

Bomb stays true to his name in Angry Birds 2.

Both Mathilde and Bomb focus on explosions to deal extra damage. Their powers are still distinct however. While Mathilde drops her explosive eggs in a straight line from above, Bomb himself turns into a bomb. You can shoot him directly into the center of the fortress and await his detonation. His explosion also causes slightly more damage than Mathilde’s eggs. Bomb will either detonate when you tap the screen or after lying around for a short period of time.

Terence – The Heavyweight Champion

Terence is a massive fighter in the free mobile game.

If you thought Bomb was a heavyweight bird, wait until you meet Terence! This bird gets bigger, the angrier he gets. His weight alone will destroy basically any obstacle in his path. Watch the Bad Piggies shake in fear when you launch Terence in the slingshot.
