How to Show File Path in Spotlight for OS X

Have you wondered how you can see the file path of files you search for in Spotlight? Luckily it’s very easy to do in OS X. Just use the guide below to see how to do it.

How to use Spotlight:
To open Spotlight use Cmd+Spacebar and type your file search term.
Highlighting the file will bring up a quick preview window, left of the search.

To show file path:
Hold cmd+option(alt) key after choosing the file and file path will appear at the bottom of the preview.

So just to clarify – press the option/alt key together with the CMD key to see the location and path of the file, song, document, e-mail message, pdf, etc…
