Sniper X guide - How to complete missions like a pro

Sniper X is a free to play shooter featuring Jason Statham as your grunting mission commander, and it challenges you to complete a variety of different missions that generally revolve around shooting people in the head.

For the most part you'll be firing pinpoint accurate shots with a sniper rifle but you'll also get a chance to unload shotguns and assault rifles into masses of unsuspecting fools.

To help you with your sniper career, we at 148Apps have headed out into the field and fired a fair few bullets to bring you these tips and tricks to help you complete missions like a pro.

Aim for the head

Let's talk about the most obvious point - headshots. When enemies are stationary, it's generally easy to center your sights over their head and pull the trigger for that sweet bonus reward.

Moving targets are a little tricker though and, as missions are on a timer, you won't often have the time to wait for them to stop before taking them down. Use the focus ability in these situations to drastically slow down time and get that precious headshot.

Also, aim for the white circle that appears in the centre of their head when you go into focus mode to get a perfect shot and rack up some gold.

Use boosts appropriately

It's tempting to use the boosts as soon as you're able but hang fire - they're each useful in a different situation.

As we mentioned earlier, the focus is best used to take out moving targets but it also has value when facing distant foes as it removes the issue with sway.

The silencer, on the other hand, is best used to take out objectives without alerting other enemies but can also be used to kill a dangerous foe before a battle.

Finally, the spotter isn't particularly useful but it does come in handy when you're running out of time and can't find the objective.

Learn the quirks of each weapon

This is half of the battle and you should spend time learning the strengths and weaknesses of each weapon.

Sniper rifles are incredibly accurate and have a zoom lens which is handy for picking out foes from a distance. The need to reload after every shot limits their use against multiple enemies though.

That's where the shotgun comes in handy - it's a master of multi-kills. You can kill a group of bunched up enemies in one shot if you're smart. That being said, the accuracy is a bit naff - you have to fire directly into the centre of an enemy's head to get a headshot.

Finally, the assault rifle is the best of both worlds. It has the accuracy of the sniper rifle in close quarters and the ability to kill off multiple enemies without reloading.

Use the environment to your advantage

The first thing you should do when you enter a level is check it out for potential environmental advantages.

The most obvious of these is the red barrels which, when fired at, explode and kill multiple enemies. Don't use these for just one enemy though, as it's noisy and will alert others.

You can also use buildings and other obstacles to your advantage by picking off enemies silently when they're out of the line of sight of their fellows.
