Get your Rings

Rings are the game’s currency. You use them to stay alive and buy upgrades. Try your best to collect as many rings as you can. If you hit a monster, you will lose your rings, but you stay alive instead of dying. By collecting rings you also fill up your dash meter. When you use the dash, you become invincible for when you are in the dash. During the dash only move side to side, but Sonic will blast through any object/enemies that stand in his path. Your score will be doubled during the dash, as well. Remember to also use your rings to upgrade Sonic’s abilities.

Remember when you bump into enemies, you will only drop rings. Yet, when you bump into obstacles such as water for example you automatically die. Sonic gives you two revival options: Coins or watching an advertisement. Make sure you watch the advertisement, since it is a very easy, menial task. I would only advise using your coins when you are beating your high score and die.

Be Ready when you jump off a spring.

When you jump off a spring, make sure you have your fingers ready! You may have the opportunity to perform a trick. When a trick is triggered, just follow the directions and swipe. Tricks consist of 4 swipes. Successfully completing the trick sequence will reward you with a ring boost (up to 100 rings).
Jumping of a spring may also trigger a boss battle. Have no fear, just be sure to be quick! In boss battles you have to dodge objects from the boss. Concentrate where they are appearing and make sure you get out of the way! There are only 2 bosses in the game: Zazz and Dr. Eggman. Upgrades

Make sure that you buy upgrades first. Upgrades are permanent and will always be there for your use. Things like revives, powers, and special items are single use and will not help you as much long-term.
