Episode: Choose Your Story Cheats & Tips for Passes & Gems

Episode – Choose Your Story, the story-based adventure game by Episode Interactive, has you play through different stories, making choices as you go along. It is currently available on iOS and Android for free, with a couple in-app purchases (although they don’t dictate your enjoyment of the game). The stories vary from road to stardom, and random adventures. Of the many stories/adventures to choose from, the main sponsored one is the Demi Lovato Road to Fame story. In fact, it’s the first story that the game pushes you into, and probably half the reason people download this app. Get it on the Google Play Store or Apple App Store.

Since I spent the most time in the Demi Lovato story, most of my review draws from there. You begin with customizing your own character, and you are granted a ton of options, all the way from skin tone, hair, eyes, and anything else you can imagine. If you are really into customization, then this will be a great feature for you. Another note, you can even customize your best friend character, and even the gender of your crush character (which is a contemporary concept).

After that, a voice over of Demi Lovato starts playing, speaking of fame and success  I am not sure if it is actually Demi (the voice sounds really robotic and auto tuned), but the voice acting is not greatest either. The game story starts with you on stage with Demi, speaking on how they never imagined themselves in this situation. Then it flashbacks to your character walking down the street, and you play from there, making choices along the way.

Choices in this game either grant you friendship, celebrity, or love points. These points can then influence the story as it goes. The choices you make can vary from what you say to a character, choosing different paths to go, and even what you wear to certain events. At instances, these points can affect what choices you are allowed to make, prohibiting you from choosing from lack of a certain stat. For example, my lack of celebrity points prohibited me from being able to buy VIP passes to the concert, so I had to find a different way to obtain tickets.

With all that laid out, it would seem that this game has potential, but where it lacks is not choices or decisions, but consequences for those decisions. Upon first playing the game, it felt as if I was just along for the ride, and not really choosing my own story, just different elements of the laid out story. To confirm this, I made a separate save file and made the exact opposite decisions from my first play through. Except for a couple differences in dialogue or animations, the story was the exact same.

You bump into your ex, fail to get concert tickets, sing in Demi’s contest, perform on stage with her and win back your ex (happily ever after). There were no significant choices that changed the story at all. It was like I filled out a Mad Libs version of a screenplay, sent it to a studio, and they made a teenage drama out of it and I decided to watch it. I even tested out some of the other stories, and there were pretty much the same (I did not play them all the way through, but when the character gives you a response that can apply to whatever you said, one can only assume).

Unlike the Telltale Games franchise, or Heavy Rain, your choices are pretty superficial and do not hold much weight. It may be a far fetch to compare a big budget game to a mobile game, but in Heavy Rain, your choices have serious weight. For example, what you say to a character can even impact their reaction, and then furthermore a choice they make that effects the storyline. Even making the wrong choice can lead to your main character dying, and even then the game continues on without that character. Episode lacks those decisions (yes the death example is not very applicable here, but it proves to point that choice based games rely on consequences, and not freewill over dialogue).

Cheats & Tips for Episode: Choose Your Story

Since the game seems to play itself, I can’t really give any tips on how to be better at it. It is the most casual a casual game can get really. If you enjoy teenage dramas, or just watching TV in general, then this game can be for you.

Once you start looking at it as a TV show rather than a game, is when you can begin to enjoy it. For tips, the most I can give is know what you are playing, and accept it for what it is, rather than comparing it to other adventure games.

Episode: Choose Your Story Review

Overall, Episode is for the most casual of players looking for a quick way to keep from dying of boredom, or just have a lot of time to kill. The story is not all that engaging, and somewhat predictable. The choices you make lack any consequence, making your “choices” obsolete and pretty much pointless.

There are some moments where your choices effect how you reach a certain point in the story, but at the end of the day, it does not matter if you had to win a contest for tickets or just buy them instead, if the end result is that you go to the concert, regardless of the choices you made. Perhaps, if the choices effected the ending could it be justified, but they do not. You win your crush over and become famous after singing on stage with Demi Lovato.

I could only assume this is how the other stories play out as well, since early on you can tell the story is being fed to you, and given to you for you to mold into your own adventure. If you are looking to kill time, and enjoy teenage dramas, this may be for you. If not, Telltale Games are a pretty great adventure game franchise.

Ratings

Artwork

I would give Episode feat. Demi Lovato – Choose your story a rating for 8/10 based on artwork. In my opinion I kind of like the artwork Episode interactive produced. The artwork for each of the characters is well made. From the hairstyles you can choose from, to the point of the bottom towards the feet area. You see motions as such as Demi Lovado jumping up and down as she is singing to hype up the audience to the point where you see the moments of special love being made out for two people of male and female. I like these artworks especially because un my honest opinion, I think it is well made with the fact of having details and realistic game like the Sims.

The Sims is games produced by EA studio that have created a great realistic game much like this one. Its story depends on which game you buy whether its Sims 2 to Sims castaway, the actions and decisions are all based on real life experiences. There making the game seem really real even if the graphics do not look human like. As much said the background is good as well. The background such as backstage or even on stage, as well as the effects of flashes and designs of the words you can choose from based on decision like choices. There are multiple reasons as well as to why these artworks are different from the other games. Some reasons are because of the details the producer as provided rather than the other games. Take a few minutes to compare the artwork between each other’s app.

I really like this type of artwork because it doesn’t seem too childish and it doesn’t seem too real. Most or some games make other designs too childish where you see the most obvious things that are not even real, while others put too much details towards avatars or even two d characters portraits. This game is just right; it has a scale right in between, a five out of ten which is a great benefit if you compare it with a real life person towards a childish review based on a kid. In conclusion based on all of these reasons / examples, I would like to conclude that this is why I gave this rating a 8/10.

Music and SFX

I would like to rate Episode feat. Demi Lovato a total rating towards a 6/10 due to the fact that the music’s are pretty decent. I am on a scale of being neutral. The music are neutral due to the fact that I do not like the music in the towards scale nor the fact that I don’t really hate it. In other words I don’t really have much to say towards this but I do feel neutral towards these types of music. But in these gameplay, I can enjoy these types of music if I listen more rapidly.

Due to the fact that the music’s a combination of pop music and hip-hop music. This may give you a general background of how you know that the producer has spent time on. Although the music in my opinion doesn’t sound really HD, or as they may say, it does not sound as fresh. They are on the right track. The music also sidetracks or changes when you are on certain points, such as naming the new director, actor, and so on. The music gives you a background where you want to dance to conclude this rating based on music and SFX, I would like to say that this is why I rate Episode feat. Demi Lovato a total rating of 6/10.

General Gameplay

I would like to rate Episode feat. Demi Lovato a total rating of a total of 7/10 based on general gameplay. I really like the amounts of story they have. There is a wide variety of choices based on story you are able to choose from. Not just the Demi Lovato. In addition there are many other features listen in the app. It states “ Join demi in an interactive story where your choices determine who you meet, the friends you make, the people you date and how you rise to the top of the charts!, design your character, pick your perfect hair, skin tone, eyes, nose and more! Dress like a star, create your style from hundreds of options.

Find love as well as who you date famous, hot musicians or the friend-next-dor-. Visit amazing cities where you’ll perform shows with demi and earn dedicated fans. Hang out with demi, her band, manager, and friends.” Last but not least it also says “experience Demi’s music, listen to her songs as the soundtrack to your story and perform the on-stage alongside demi herself! “ Furthermore, you can play as Amanda, Kim, Naomi, Taylor or others. Flirt with guys and try to find a date for the formal, make friends and try to get into the best sorority on campus. You can see that this game is pretty intense in general. There are a lot of features you are able to do.  In my opinion I was pretty attracted when I read the description based on what you read above. Furthermore I saw that it said “ Welcome to Episode: your home for interactive, visual stories, whereas the player YOU choose what path you take!

New story featuring DEMI Lovato! Join Demi and her entourage on tour! Create your own look, band and sound while balancing love, friendship, and fame! Explore our wide catalog of stories in any of your favorite genres from romance to comedy to adventure! In general I find this game really fun to play, and therefore I would like to rate the general gameplay a total of 7/10.

Story and Originality

I would rate Episode feat. Demi Lovato Choose your story a total of 7/10. As stated, they have added a lot more features than the last game they had produced proving that they have focused and read the suggestions the people who have played and reviewed this app. They have read the suggestions and improved a whole lot in my opinion. The originality is a lot changed based on the fact that there are multiple decisions you may choose from. Fact that they were even able creates a second game like this such as like High school story. Episode feat. Demi Lovato, Choose your story is another game that is such like High school story.

As stated before, the producer was able to create a new game based on similar games that have been pasty realized. Such as the game we all know “The Sims”. We both may all know that this game is a really popular game, as for the EA company. Our imaginations were mind blowing when we found out that we were able to have Sims play as like a normal human being. To add on with this, I would like to say that this game is a really cool game based on the fact that there are multiple decisions to be able to be made. “ Campus Crush: Welcome to your freshman year on campus. You’ve managed to get into the Lockwood university, the most esteemed college in the state. But will you make friends? Will you find love? And what will you uncover about your mysterious scholarship? All of that is up to you as you choose your way through this interactive story!” In conclusion this is why I would give Hollywood U: Rising stars a total of a rating of 7/10.

Addictiveness

I would rate Episode feat. Demi Lovato Choose your story a total of a rating of 7/10, because of the fact that they were able to make this type of game on mobile itself is already a high standard rating. The reason this rating dropped by one, is because I have played games like this in the past. But that is on computer. And have not played it as an app.  I personally have played enough of these types of games, because not a lot of producers that made these types of games in the past have been really successful. One final reason is because there is a lot of similar game to become what we may see now. This game is very unique.

You can see there are multiple reasons you are able to enjoy this game. Some popular reasons are because there are multiple decisions that require your attention. If you choose this choice for example there may be other consequences during the future gameplay. So just a hint for my fellow viewers who decide to read this, I am here to provide some guidance as well. Your choices in this game matters as well, be loyal and do not be side tracked. There are a lot of reasons you are able to make decisions. With that being said, I would like to conclude that this is why I would rate Episode feat. Demi Lovato Choose your story a total of 7/10.
