In Gunpoint you play as Conway, an independent spy, in a simple 2D platformer that turns out to be a complicated and a challenging puzzle. With the help of a variety of gadgets you will have to make your way through many heavily guarded buildings.

In this guide you will find a detailed description of all the important elements in Gunpoint as well as a walkthrough of all the levels. The walkthrough contains detailed information and a lot of pictures that will help you finish the game.

Warning! There are a lot of ways to complete each of the missions in Gunpoint. The methods that have been used in this walkthrough are the simplest and most effective.

Colour markings

Gadgets

In Gunpoint you play as a spy, and as we know a spy can't get around without a wide selection of gadgets. There are a few gadgets in the game that you can, and most of the time even have to, use. This is the list:

Crosslink - used to rewiring electrical devices. For example, you can wire a light switch so that it opens a selected locked door.

Longshot - used to rewiring the guns of your enemies. For example: you can connect a guards' gun to an activating panel of a certain door, which will make the door open when a guard pulls the trigger.

Resolver - a simple handgun. Warning! After firing at least one shot, you will have 30 seconds left to finish the mission, otherwise a guard with a machine gun will appear at the exit, making it impossible to get to.

Battery - a battery with a limited amount of charges, required to use certain gadgets, eg. Longshot.

Abilities

There are three abilities in Gunpoint. After each mission you get one point that you can spend on either of those abilities.

Bullfrog Jump Strength - increases the speed and the distance of your jumps.

Bullfrog Charge-Up Time - allows you to charge a longer jump - the more points you add, the faster it charges.

Power Capacity - charge slots for your battery. You get one slot with each added point.

Types of enemies

There are three kinds of enemies in Gunpoint - Enemies and gameplay elements - Gunpoint - Game Guide and Walkthrough

There are three kinds of enemies in Gunpoint. Each one of them requires a different approach.

1: Normal Guard - can be taken care of in many ways. His only defensive element is a pistol which he'll use when he sees a player

2: Enforcer - can be taken care of by using a Boobytrap, Resolver or jumping on him only when he's close to the ledge.

3: Pro - can see in the dark and will shoot at you even when pointing the Resolver at him.

Gameplay Elements

Before you move on to the walkthrough, you should know a few things about the different elements that you will find in the game.

Each mission of course has a purpose and in Gunpoint it's usually hacking computers. Most of the levels have a few main objectives s that need to be addressed but they will also often include optional tasks. In this tutorial the author refers to them as: a main computer, a laptop and a suitcase.

This little device hanging on the walls is an alarm that will be activated when the player is in the vicinity. Activating the alarm causes the guards to gather up at its location, so it is best to avoid it or rewire it by using Crosslink or Wirelink.

After the game starts you will have to select the resolution. Choose the one that suits you best and then immediately go into the game.

Then jump down through the broken window and move to the place that is marked on the picture above. It's an entrance to the subway and you will use it as an exit in every mission.

After you've started the next mission, go right until you'll notice a building. Then hold down the left mouse button, and you should see a line made of dots - this line shows the distance in which you can make a jump. Jump to the left side of the building and climb on the roof.

After that, jump through the window on the right and run to the exit.

Go inside and then jump on one of the Normal Guards, like on the picture above. When you're on top of him, hit him in the face a few times by click the left mouse button and make sure that he doesn't get up.

After a successful knock-out, use the staircase to get on the floor below. Don't worry, the other Normal Guard is standing behind closed doors, therefore he can't see you, but you have to get him out of there. Next to the staircase there is a light switch, press it and then jump on the wall right above the closed doors.

Hold on to the wall and wait until the Normal Guard gets out of the room. Then get ready to jump and aim for the Normal Guard. Remember to do it before he gets to the light switch.

Punch him a few times and then head to the room from where he came from. Hack the main computer, go back upstairs and run through the door on the right to get to the exit.

In order to start the next mission, you will have to buy a Crosslink. You can do it by going to Shop, then choose Crosslink and click Buy. When you're done, you can start the next mission.

You will find yourself in front of a building and you will notice that there are no enemies this time, so you can move freely. Get to the first floor by using the staircase. Now in order to get to your main task you will have to get through the closed doors. Right now you will learn the most important element of the game, and that is rewiring. In order to get into the Crosslink Mode, press Alt or scroll the middle mouse button.

You will notice that the light switch is connected to the lamp with a red line. Click and hold the left mouse button on the light switch and drag the red line on the locked door. Now when you will press the light switch, the door will open. Enter the room and hack the main computer and then go down, jump through the window on the right and move to the exit.

In this mission you will have to get rid of two Normal Guards. The first is on the first floor with his back to you, so just simply jump on him and knock him out. The second one is on the floor above and is facing the staircase, which is the only way for you to get there.

Go in the Crosslink Mode and right next to the Normal Guard you will notice a small red square. This is a Boobytrap that will electrocute him upon activation. In order to activate it, connect it to the light switch on the floor below (marked on picture above), and then press the light switch. The Normal Guard will drop on the floor, and you can move up to hack the main computer.

After you've done that, connect the same light switch to the closed doors on the right. Open them by pressing the light switch and then run to the exit.

Now it's time for one of the harder missions. This time you will have to hack three main computers, and there's four Normal Guards in the building.

Jump on the first floor where the doors are opened and use the staircase to get on the second floor. Jump on the Normal Guard that is standing near the window on the left. It will make a bit of noise and the Normal Guard from the second room will run out to see what's happening, but he will start circling the room after a few seconds. Use that to your advantage and knock him out. Now get to the right end of the floor and hack the first main computer.

Now go into the Crosslink Mode and disconnect the light switch on the first floor (marked as number 1 on the picture above) and the light switch on the second floor connect to the lamp on the first floor (marked as number 2 on the picture above) - #5 - Rooke: Three for All - Walkthrough - Gunpoint - Game Guide and Walkthrough

Then press the light switch that you've just connected to the lamp, which will make the light on the first floor go off. The Normal Guard will try to switch it back on, but to no avail. Take the elevator to get on the first floor (remember that the Normal Guard can't see you in the darkness) and get rid of him. Now you can hack the main computer.

Now you have to do something similar again. The light switch marked as number 1 on the picture above connects to the lamp on the floor below, and the light switch marked as number 2 has to be disconnected from the same lamp. The Normal Guard will not be able to see you, so you can take the elevator down and take him out the same way you did with the other one. Hack the last main computer and go back on the first floor.

You will need to buy a Wirelink in order to start this mission. This time you will have to listen to a conversation, but you can take a laptop that will be in your way.

You need to open the closed door in front of you in order to get inside the building. Get in the Crosslink Mode and connect the camera to that door (like on the picture above). In order to open them, step in the line of sight of the camera, so it shines red. Then use the staircase to get on the lowest floor of the building and make your way to the green Circuit Box. Activate it by pressing W.

After you've done that, get back on the first floor and connect the light switch to the activation panel of the door (like in the picture above) - #6 - Collins: innocent - Walkthrough - Gunpoint - Game Guide and Walkthrough

After you've done that, get back on the first floor and connect the light switch to the activation panel of the door (like in the picture above). Activate it and use the elevator to get on the floor above. Go into Crosslink Mode and you'll notice that the motion detector door is connected to the regular door. Disconnect them from each other and move across to the end of the room where the laptop is, and pick it up.

All you have to do now is get on the top floor and listen to the conversation - #6 - Collins: innocent - Walkthrough - Gunpoint - Game Guide and Walkthrough

All you have to do now is get on the top floor and listen to the conversation. Stand in the marked square and wait until the conversation comes to an end, and then go back to the first floor.

In Crosslink Mode, connect the only light switch on that floor with the exit door, and then press it - #6 - Collins: innocent - Walkthrough - Gunpoint - Game Guide and Walkthrough

In this mission you will have to reach the room on the lowest floor, but first you will have to activate a Circuit Box that is protected by an Enforcer.

At first it will be best to get rid of an Enforcer on the first floor. Do that by going into Crosslink Mode and connecting the light switch with a flap, that will open when you press the light switch. Do that when an Enforcer is walking on the flap, and he will lose consciousness the moment he hits the floor. Then use the staircase to get on the first floor.

Now you're very close to the Circuit Box but notice, that the last Enforcer is facing its way - #7 - Gessler: Industrial Esponage - Walkthrough - Gunpoint - Game Guide and Walkthrough

Now you're very close to the Circuit Box but notice, that the last Enforcer is facing its way. In order to distract him, you need to go in the elevator and ride to the floor above. Attention! When you reach the floor, do not go out of the elevator - that way he will not see you.

Now when you've distracted him you can ride back down and use the staircase to get up. Activate the Circuit Box.

The only thing left to do is getting out of the building. Connect the camera with the closed exit door, activate it and step outside, and then head to the exit.

Get inside the building through the open door and jump on the back of the Normal Guard.

To begin, connect a locked door with the motion detection door. Wait until the Normal Guard goes through them and opens the door for you, and then disconnect them from each other. Activate all three Circuit Boxes. Now connect the same motion detection door with the closed door on the floor below. When the Enforcer on the floor below will go behind that door, wait until the Normal Guard above goes through the motion detection door again therefore closing the Enforcer in the room. Disconnect both of the activation panels from that door, so the Enforcer won't be able to get out.

Now connect the green motion detection door with the closed door on the floor below. Do the same thing that you did before, so the Enforcer on that floor gets trapped in a room, and then disconnect both the activation panels from that door.

Now connect the lightswitch on the floor below to the motion detection door and disconnect it soon after the Enforcer activates it. Then connect the violet motion detection door on the lowest floor with the violet flap located on the roof. Stand right next to it and wait for a perfect moment, so that you will hit both of the Normal Guards while you're jumping down. The broken glass will make a lot of noise and the other Enforcers will want to check it out but they're locked inside their rooms. Head to the end room on the right side and take the suitcase. Now you need to take the laptop that is located in a room with one of the Enforcers.

Connect that door to its activating panels and the same activating panel connect it to the green motion detection door located on the floor above. Wait until the Enforcer above goes through them and opens the door below you. Jump on the Enforcer as soon as he's close to the ledge. After you've done that, go inside the room and take the laptop.

Use the elevator located next to you and go to the lower floor. You will notice that the Enforcer will turn towards you but he won't get out of the room. That way the Enforcer won't notice you after he comes out so you can jump above him and then activate the yellow Circuit Box. Do that and go back to the elevator, and then go to the lowest floor. Activate the yellow Circuit Box. Then go through the motion detection door, so you can open the door that are connected to it, and then disconnect them from each other (2). Thanks to Gatecrashes you can now open certain doors by simply kicking them. The doors fly away quite a distance and they can knock out enemies, so the first two floors shouldn't be a problem for you. Just simply walk through the doors and take out the enemies along the way.

In order to activate the sound sensor you have step in to the line of sight of the camera located right near the entrance to the staircase. Wait for a good moment in which Pro on the floor above will be walking right on the flap and then step into the line of sight the camera. Pro will fall down and you need to quickly jump through the opened clap. When you're there, activate the yellow Circuit Box.

The next step will be collecting the laptop and activating the violet Circuit Box. They are both in a room with Pro. Break the glass in the room that you're in now and jump back inside. Jump to the wall right above the window that you've just shattered and climb up under the window of the room that you have to get into. The only way to break the glass is by shooting it. You can't do it while in mid-air, so the Pro will have to do it for you. In order to get his attention, you need to jump up (just like on the picture above). Attention! That shot can hit you but thanks to Deathfluke there is a chance that it won't happen. If it does, you can use to automatic autosave to go back a few seconds before the jump. The Pro will shatter the glass and after a while he'll start walking around the room. Go back under the window and wait until his back is facing the broken window, then jump in and take him down. Use the elevator to go to the floor above. You will notice three Pros walking across the whole floor. In order to get rid of them you have to wait until all three of them are facing their backs towards you (just like on the picture above), and then get out of the elevator and start jumping on them, one by one. Remember that you have to be quick. One punch is more than enough to take them out. After you've taken care of them, move to the left side of the floor and activate the blue Circuit Box.

After you've dealt with him, go back up to the top floor. There is only one enemy left. Get in the Crosslink Mode and disconnect the closed door from the small button located right next to the desk in the other room. Now just simply run in to the room by kicking the door out and it will knock out the enemy. Your job is done, jump out through the window and head to the exit.
