In this walkthrough you will find how to get to all of the Baubles, Chests, hidden rooms and how to beat all bosses in Super Adventure Box world.

This guide will lead you step by step through a series of difficult jumps, describe the locations of mini-bosses and hidden treasures. Following the instructions in this walkthrough you will quickly and easily get all the achievements for the Super Adventure Box.

Super Adventure Box is a dungeon introduced during April Fools' Day 2013 themed like well-known Super Mario Bros games series. Basically whole world looks like 8-bit platformer game.

Rules of "SAB" are same as for other dungeons: maximum 5 players can enter and each player's statistics and level are dynamically adjusted to instance's requirements.

Main difference between SAB and other dungeons is fact that you won't use your regular skills and traits in this 8-bit world, here You will have completely different set of skills gathered during your adventure inside Box.

Getting there

In Rata Sum (level 3), in Creator's Commons section there is new portal leading to 8-bit world of adventure, fun and ...irritations. Beside portal new NPC Moto is waiting to help us during our gameplay.

Box is designed like any other dungeon in most cases, but main difference is that you can complete it not only as a team of five, but also solo or in smaller group.

Death and Continue Coin

Each player gets five lives at start, every life is made up of a number of "hearts" that the player has (everyone starts with three hearts, and gets another ones for completing certain elements of the game), the heart represents life bar (one heart = two hits). Each time a player is killed one life is consumed and player appears on the last checkpoint reached, at the consumption of all five lives player will end up in a secluded room, where our friend Moto offers us Continue Coin for 50 Baubles (currency world Super Adventure Box) if you don't own one already. After giving Continue Coin to Moto you get another 5 lives and can go back to the 8-bit adventure (Continue Coin drops from chests in other instances, at the end of the jumping puzzles, or from world bosses).

In Super Adventure Box player starts with three hearts (with which you can withstand a total of six hits), five lives and ... stick (the ability number one). Nothing special, but stick turns out to be able to kill the enemy in one or two hits. However, after the discovery of several hidden shops you will be able to buy yourself some upgrades:

  1. Stick - basic attack, melee range
  2. Slingshot - available in the last shop in the World 1, ranged attack, fast, but only in a straight line, and each attack uses one Bauble
  3. Bomb - twice as much damage as Stick or Slingshot but slower attack (any attack consumes one Bauble), mainly used to blow up the door to get to the hidden rooms
  4. Whip - stun opponent in front (melee range)
  5. Candle - sometimes used to discover the hidden locations. but it's primarily for burning up plants that have the habit of stunning players
  6. Potion - a standard drink regenerating life - it is not a fixed ability, you have to buy a drink in order to have them available.
  7. Shovel - to dig and search for Baubles, sometimes you can dig up an opponent, but mostly nothing.
  8. Moto's Breath - elite skill you get after the discovery of one of the secret rooms in the dungeon. Breathing can be used only once for each zone, activating this ability will spawn a large head of Moto which will stun nearby enemies.

An additional upgrade (but not a direct upgrade to a character) is Bauble Purse - Handbag allowing you wear up to 500 Baubles at once.

Currency: Baubles

The currency in the SAB are Bauble Baubles and Bauble Bubbles. For those you can buy extras and player upgrades in the instance, but it also can be exchanged for weapons skins and a few other more or less common items.

Infantile Mode

The game gives us an option to play easy mode, you could select it by "talking" to the cloud in the first room Super Adventure Box instead of going into the door of a tree trunk. This mode helps the player to overcome obstacles and difficult jumps by creating shortcuts in the form of a rainbow. However Infantile Mode has its drawbacks, for example for completing the zone you won't get a chest which could include weapon skins.

After a short cutscene informing us that our mission is to save the princess you appear in the Sunny Glade. Right at the beginning, you have some Baubles to find and collect, the first is on the top of the tree on the right side, by the waterfall, next Bauble is hidden in a box to which the key lies next to it.

The key is used as a weapon when using first skill, but it also can open the chest when ability #2 is used. Note that when you play in the group ALL players needs to be present at the checkpoint in order to advance, also all players need to have keys equipped and use second skill near chest in order to unlock it.

After opening the box (1 Bauble), you can now reveal the first hidden room, this requires us to use the Mini-Bomb. Throw a bomb in a waterfall or to plant it at its very edge, after explosion you can enter through the wall of water into the room, where after few jumps on geysers you can collect 5 Baubles.

Proceed to the first checkpoint, but just before it, you will still have one bombing to do in order to discover another hidden room opposite the checkpoint, and the five Baubles inside it.

Before you start hunting for monkeys, turn left instead of right - there are hidden doors on the wall and first store behind them, you can buy there:

  • Digger (skill #8 - dig in search of Baubles in SAB world) - 100 Baubles
  • 1-Up (adds one life) - 20 Baubles
  • Key (opens chests) - 25 Baubles
  • Small Health Refill (health potion) - 5 Baubles

After the first checkpoint, you can choose the bottom path, or upper path. The upper path will require from you a little jumping and confrontation with some monkeys, but as the reward you can gather 4 Baubles here. After dealing with the enemies, and after collecting visible Baubles it's time for another box to open, it is on the hill in the middle of the map, around which you just jumped. This time you get the key to the box out of the hands of one of the monkeys, you don't know which it is, so just beat them until you'll find one.

After a few jumps there's 20 Baubles waiting for you in the chest, on the platform below there's five Baubles ready to collect - you have to jump from the edge of the hill where chest is to make it to lower platform with 5 Baubles. Now, just before the next checkpoint bomb the wall where pile of rocks is, behind those rocks there's another hidden room with 20 Baubles.

Between checkpoint 2 and 3 you have to deal with a narrow corridor, you won't see it right away, but at the top there's another hidden room. The Infantile Mode allows you to jump right to it from highest point of rainbow to the left, but in normal mode you have to reach the third checkpoint, then turn back to perform a series of jumps depicted on the screenshot above and then blow up pile of rocks on the wall with mini-bomb. In the room you have to collect six Baubles.

It's time for labyrinth and first mini-boss. While going forward you'll find yourself on turn left. Instead of following the main path, however, veer to the right (following the Bee Dogs).

Watch for monkeys in the labyrinth, but also try to search for all hidden Baubles there. Remember that you have to find 3 single Baubles and one +5 Bauble. If you need help finding all Baubles you can simply go back after defeating the maze, but this time going on top of it making it easy to spot the missing Baubles.

After beating the labyrinth its worth to go sightseeing some more, because after the maze said mini-boss is waiting for us. Big Bee seems to be a tough opponent, because every now and then he knocks players, but if anyone has a whip (the ability to number 4) the fight becomes much easier. It is even possible (though slow) killing Bee in one person, it involves alternating attacks with a stick and a whip. After killing large insect look around for honeycomb stuck behind him on the wall, it drops Baubles when players attack it.

Before going through the next checkpoint there is +5 Bauble lying on the platform just before you, collect it and go through last save point.

There's rather difficult jump after crossing the checkpoint gate, three Baubles are hanging over the abyss and to get them without falling you have to jump when you character is on the very edge of the platform (there are some more jumps of this kind in Super Adventure Box).

After a successful (or not) jump go to the right along the wall up to the corner where you need to bomb pile of rubble to reveal entrance to hidden room and 10 Baubles in it.

After leaving the secret room go ahead (continuing along the wall) until you get to the next store where you can buy:

  • Whip (stuns opponents) - 150 Baubles
  • 1-Up (adds one life) - 20 Baubles
  • Key (lets you open the chests) - 25 Baubles
  • Small Health Refill (restores one heart) - 5 Baubles

Now it's time to finish the first zone. After visiting the store start to climb a high mountain located in the center of the board (you can start from any side). After defeating few monkeys along the way up you'll reach the last checkpoint, and behind it is big cage with trapped shopkeeper and chest.

Cage is guarded by the head, whose owner earlier kidnapped princess. Your task is to destroy the cage avoiding attacks of the boss. Attack looks like a laser shot and the best way to avoid it is continuous movement.

Setting the attack (eg a stick) to auto-attack (ctrl right click) really helps here.

Immediately after the start of the second zone collect 8 Baubles hanging in the air by jumping on mushrooms (mini-trampolines). You will get to the last Bauble (sitting on top of a tree) by jumping from the last disc.

After collecting all Baubles you can visit a waterfall around the corner. Dig (with Digger) near the rock in the water to find 20 Baubles.

To the left of the waterfall there is a rock and hidden room. In order to reveal the entrance to a secret room just throw a bomb into said rock. This will open a hole in the ground where another 5 Baubles is waiting to collect.

On the way to the first checkpoint you have to search "dark forest" for 3 Baubles. Because images gets significantly darkened here you might want to increase the gamma in the graphics options to 2 or even 2.5, it's much easier to move around in dimly lit locations.

A few steps behind the checkpoint on the ground is the first bauble, just pay attention to the new enemy - spiders.

To the left of the first Bauble, in a collapsed tree trunk another Bauble is waiting for gathering. A little further, another 2 Baubles lies on the two leaves of water lilies.

Right behind lilies you can see the door of the first store where you can:

  • Mini Bomb (most commonly used to discover hidden rooms, uses Baubles as ammunition, you can throw it or plant it, buy it as soon as you can if you want to discover all secrets quickly) - 200 Baubles
  • 1-Up (adds one life) - 20 Baubles
  • Key (lets you open the chests) - 25 Baubles
  • Small Health Refill (restores one heart) - 5 Baubles

In a moment you get to the next chest, therefore you have a choice: buy key immediately or seek free key hunting monkeys.

Time for another floors. To get higher you need to go back to the collapsed tree, in which was the second Bauble. Go up through the slanted tree trunk and collect 3 Baubles along the way.

From the top of said trunk you have to jump on nearby leaf and head towards the big, broken tree. Jump into the tree from the branch to collect single Bauble, jump down and open the chest.

After collecting both Baubles you can enter inside the tree in front and get Baubles in there...

or go to the right and do quite hard (but doable) jump to get to the hidden shortcut.

If you want to get all Baubles and all the achievements leave the shortcut for now and start from the trunk of a tree in front: in the middle you can collect 5 Baubles while climbing on the leaves. Once you reach the top the most convenient way will be to get the Baubles guarded by the snake on the platform on right.

From here jump "the leaf up" and you can start to back away to the trunk from which you came.

In a moment you will see two mushrooms on the left and right side of said trunk. Starting from the left mushroom jump up and start to go back.

After jumping with trampoline to a higher level go towards the high wall, then along it, until you will see a lot of spiders and 8 Baubles forming an arrow on the bottom left.

The spiders can be dealt with fairly quickly. Bombs ease the matter, and after breaking barrels standing between spiders you will get "immortality" for a short while.

After collecting Baubles from the ground you can head for the mushroom that will shoot you again to the high wall (arrow formed from Baubles pointed to the trampoline). Pay attention to the other side of the wall, collect 3 Baubles on the leaves and do not miss the monkeys, they may have a key. After entering the trunk and climbing up a bit you'll find fourth Bauble.

It's almost the end of this section, but before going any further look up: on top of a big trunk there are 6 Baubles to collect!

After collecting all the Baubles you can jump down and go through checkpoint 2 again. Go through a series of water lilies, but this time do not go into the trunk of a tree to go to canopy level, just stay on the ground and go forward along the left wall. After few turns you will see single Bauble between the trees in front of you, take it and standing here turn left, you will see a small corridor followed by another bee mini-boss.

Strategy as previously: one person stuns with whip, the rest of group attacks, or if you fight alone hit alternately with whip and stick. After the fight, take care of the honeycomb and return to where you picked up last Bauble.

From here, continue the journey along the left wall, in a moment you'll see a monkey on a large square branch lying on the ground, next to it is another shop and big rock with Bauble on it. Enter the store (same items as previous shop), if you don't have a key, consider the purchase of one, because soon you will find the chest.

After collecting bauble in front of the shop do not leave this area yet, instead throw a bomb at the wall to the left of the rock, there is a hidden room with some Baubles in it.

When you exit the area where store was you will notice that you have done circle. Good, because now you have to go back to the top.

Remember platform with single Bauble guarded by the snake? Go there and jump to the left (instead of right as you jumped to reach the mushrooms) to get the chest, and 20 Baubles in it.

Go back on the same platform (with Bauble and snake) and head towards the mushrooms, but this time select the right trampoline, bounce from it to get another Bauble on leaves before hollow in the tree.

After collecting Bauble go inside the tree and jump on top of it from where you will see another Bauble on the leaf to collect.

Now you can head for the checkpoint. The simplest way is to get to a platform with a snake and Bauble (again) > left mushroom (again) > the leaves, the grassy islet, and again on the leaves:

Just before checkpoint collect single bauble, but if you want to get all the Baubles and all the achievements you will have to use earlier mentioned shortcut.

Go back to the previous checkpoint and use the "Shortcut Wurm", do not miss any seven Baubles inside it. After leaving the worm you'll land on a platform with another Bauble.

Now you have to jump down and go back a little to find another two hidden rooms.

You will be jumping over the precipice, so remember that every mistake results in death. First, jump down to the root with a trampoline, from there to solid ground. Now you have to get to the last hidden room, probably you will lose some lives to find it, but unfortunately there is no other way.

The entrance to the room is at a level where you are now, go back a bit to the edge where you just landed from mushroom jump, and instead of going forward to the shop, go right jumping over a small hole and stopping next to another one - that's it, the entrance to shop.

On closer examination you will notice root on the bottom, this is where you have to land. You might want to increase gamma in the graphics options again in order to better see the roots.

Now you have to jump around a vertical root, this is not the easiest jump, but after the jump only thing left is to climb up and enter a secret room where 10 Baubles is waiting to collect.

At this point, only thing left is another fight with the cage and collecting the last three Baubles on the fallen tree. From where you are now (last hidden room), you can try to get back to the surface jumping up, or simply die and appear at the last checkpoint.

For the first time you will have to deal with the acid on the ground, so you must be careful not to burn yourself. Gathering Baubles is possible with rapid jumping on acid, or you can make use of the floating lilies, from which you jump on mushroom which will shoot you on top of tree trunk, from there you can easily jump down to collect last 3 Baubles.

From here you can jump on the little islet (but it is quite difficult jump to perform), and on the trampoline. At the end you need to fight same boss you fought once (head guarding a cage).

Plants are new in this Zone: flat Sundews with red circles in the middle (they will catch you as you stand on the center spot), and the bushes after the entry into which the player is bewildered (if you have a key, the plants eat it). Simply burn the bushes with Candle, and avoid stepping on red circles of Sundews.

New opponents are frogs with ranged attacks, crocodiles and turtles, which you can treat as floating rocks after stunning them with whip.

At the beginning of the map you need to get to small vertical tree trunk with mushroom inside. Burn plants just before the trunk and bounce from trampoline, it will throw you on the edge of the trunk, from where you can jump on the Sundews and into large horizontal trunk, there are three Baubles in the middle and one at the top.

From here, perform series of jumps on the Sundews go to the checkpoint.

Before the checkpoint it's worth noting where Bee Dogs fly, because to the left just before the gate to next location another mini-boss and the honeycomb are waiting for you, you only need to go through the maze.

Right after the first checkpoint you have to follow simple path of few jumps to get to first Bauble guarded by the frog.

After collecting Bauble use mushroom you have used second ago, but this time jump from it on the large branch on opposite to platform where Bauble was. From there jump on the leaf and head to big slanted branch with single Bauble on top.

To land on the branch jump off from the leaf when your character is on very edge of it. Practising this may take a while, but it's doable.

After collecting the Bauble from the branch you can jump on the adjacent leaf and head towards the monkeys. A good idea would be to deal with all of them looking for the key.

From here you can already see the next checkpoint, the key will be useful now, because just before the checkpoint is the chest.

After jumping on the branch leading to the next stage look to the left, you can jump on a long step on the wall from nearby growths, from the step jump over few Sundews and to the chest ahead.

Collect Baubles from the chest and go through the checkpoint, you will see 2 Baubles on the leaves below, but beware, leaves here disappear a second after you will step on them.

After you'll get the Baubles (or if you simply fall down) you can visit the shop in acid waterfall. Shop is hidden on the very beginning of this location and it's worth visiting because it offers Bauble Purse for sale allowing you to carry up to 500 Baubles at once, Bauble Purse costs 250 Baubles.

Don't leave room with shop just yet. Use Candle on the carpet lying on the floor, after it burns use mini-bomb on the same spot, this will reveal another hidden room.

Using the fact that you're at the bottom try to quickly jump through the acid to reach a lying tree trunk where you'll find four Baubles, after getting them again rapidly jump to the slanted trunk from where you will reach higher levels.

On the spine of the trunk there are 3 bauble. After gathering them, go in the direction of a broken vertical trunk from its left side a long series of jumps begins, and one of them is extremely difficult, so it is worth to use speed buffs hidden in barrels just before the start of jumping.

Don't jump from leaf with Bauble just yet, go right to the next hidden store (if you do not have a key - buy it now) and collect +5 Bauble right outside the door.

Jump down from where the store was and go up again through slanted trunk, opposite the trunk on after few jumps on leaves there is a chest, open it and go through the checkpoint.

You have 10 Baubles in total to collect on upper level, be careful, here almost all leaves disappear second after stepping on them. Move fast and if you want a break try to stop on a branch so you won't fall.

Baubles on canopy level are accessible from two sides: top checkpoint 3 and big tree trunk with mushroom in it just before checkpoint 4.

If you fell or simply got all Baubles you could reach jump down and search crocodile and 3 water lilies floating on the acid.

After stunning crocodile get inside big tree trunk and jump on the roots up. After that use mushrooms to get on the top of the trunk (try to collect all the Baubles on the way up).

On the top you will find another +5 Bauble and after that you need to jump down to the hidden room where Villager will award you with elite skill: Moto's Breath.

Now you need to get back to canopy level, but this time not from top checkpoint 3, but from earlier mentioned trunk with trampoline inside it. Again get though crocodile to the huge trunk with lots of roots, but this time don't climb on the roots, but instead go forward avoiding acid.

At the end you will see monkey, turn right next to it and jump on the growths until you won't be able to jump any higher.

Right after getting to canopy level you will see chest and single Bauble, get them.

After collecting Baubles head towards horizontal trunk hanging in the air, on top of it you will have 4 Baubles to collect. To get on top of mentioned trunk you need to jump through hole in its side accessible after jumping on little growths.

From here head towards tree trunk with mushroom in its center and collect all the Baubles inside it. After that use trampoline to get to horizontal trunk again, now go on its other side.

On the other side of the hanging trunk is another short trunk with single +5 Bauble.

After getting out of the trunk go towards trunk with mushroom in it (but this time going under hanging tree, not through its center). Trunk with trampoline go around from the left, where you will be able to enter another hidden room.

Just before last checkpoint go to the right to visit last shop with Slingshot for only 225 Baubles. To access this room you have to perform series of jumps on the growths and jump down to the shop's door.

It's time to cross last checkpoint in World 1 and final boss fight.

King toad is extremely easy boss when you will get used to mechanics of the fight, it can even be soloed without any problem.

Legs - King gazes on one of its side every now and then, after short while he will stomp with his leg on side he was looking at, this will cause acid shock wave.

You can avoid damage from this attack by running away on lateral water lily opposite to one boss was looking at.

Another way is to jump in exact moment when the boss hits his paw at the ground, but mastering this requires some practice.

Jump - This attack is preceded by Kings repeatedly squatting, try to escape as soon as possible to one of the stones lying under a waterfall where you will be able to wait out the attack. Jump attack is very strong and cannot be avoided in any way.

Tongue - the king begins to turn his head from side to side and then opens the mouth, it means that soon he will attack with his tongue. The range of this ability is very large, but there is a safe spot under king's head where the attack won't cause any harm to the players (the place indicated on the screenshot).

Between attacks, hit the crystal on Kings neck, it will drop Jewel Shards. As soon as the king begins his tongue attack (turns his head from side to side) pick up the shard and throw it in Kings open mouth, a moment after that you can attack him dealing normal damage. If you have Slingshot and don't really care about using Baubles as ammo attacking with Slingshot will speed whole fight up due to fast attacks.

You just have to avoid the attacks and throw the Shards in the King's open and the boss fight will be over quickly. If it's the first time you beat King Toad as a reward you will get fourth heart.
