God of War 2 Game Guide & Walkthrough

1 - God of War 2 - Game Guide and Walkthrough

Welcome to our unofficial God of War 2 walkthrough. We prepared a full solution to all the game's puzzles, as well as locations of all power-ups (Gorgon Eyes and Phoenix Feathers), secrets (Urns) and experience chests. So, let's kick off with a bunch of simple hints.

Power-ups - A few hints to get you started - God of War 2 - Game Guide and Walkthrough

Power-ups

You'll encounter four types of orbs during your adventures: green (health), blue (mana), yellow (Rage of the Titans) and red (experience). Sometimes you can get some of them from defeated enemies, but the biggest orb deposits are chests. They can be quite well hidden so pay attention to your surroundings. Also, you'll have to collect Gorgon Eyes to enhance your health bar, and Phoenix Feathers to enhance your mana bar.

Weapons - A few hints to get you started - God of War 2 - Game Guide and Walkthrough

Weapons

Your main weapons throughout the whole game will be the Blades of Athena. You'll come across other means of destructions, such as a hammer or a spear. Each of the weapons has its pros and cons, but Athena's Blades are virtually unmatched. Be sure to spend most of your red orbs to take them all the way to the maximum level.

Magic - A few hints to get you started - God of War 2 - Game Guide and Walkthrough

Magic

During the game, Kratos will gain access to 4 magic-based techniques: Typhon's Bane (an energy bow), Chronos Rage (electrocution of all surrounding enemies), Head of Euryale (petrifying the enemies) and Atlas Quake (mass-damage earthquake). The most useful of these is definitely the Chronos Rage - mostly near the end of the game, where you face multiple enemies at once. In fact, I can't imagine beating some of the later fights without it! Atlas Quake is a far more powerful spell damage-wise, but costs lots of mana - you can use it, but be reasonable with it. The two remaining attacks are best forgotten. They have their place in certain moments of the game, but using them in mere combat is just not helpful enough.

Combat

Combat system in GoW2 is quite liberal and doesn't force you to remember any long or complicated combos. Kratos faces a lot of different enemies, but most of them are easily dealth with using the basic techniques. It is very important to get used to using throw button (O) - we'll be calling it a "fatality" later in this guide. This move lets you to quickly finish the enemy, as long as his health is low enough. In most cases you can tell that the enemy is ready to be finished by a rotating O-marker above his head. Besides, initiating a fatality usually gives you a few seconds of invincibility (the animation that follows cannot be interrupted by enemy attacks). You'll surely appreciate that fact when you are under heavy attack from multiple enemies. Also, try to remember to dodge (using right analog stick) as much as possible, it can save your day.

1 - Rhodes - Walkthrough - God of War 2 - Game Guide and WalkthroughHINT: Don't be too strict about collecting the red orbs on this level - you'll loose all of them at the end anyway - Rhodes - Walkthrough - God of War 2 - Game Guide and Walkthrough

HINT: Don't be too strict about collecting the red orbs on this level - you'll loose all of them at the end anyway.

Defeat all the enemies and open the gate on the left. Go through the corridor. When the Colossus smashes the wall, go through the passage on the left, get the green orbs from the chest and go up the ladder.

2 - Rhodes - Walkthrough - God of War 2 - Game Guide and WalkthroughYou'll be facing the Colossus for the first time here - Rhodes - Walkthrough - God of War 2 - Game Guide and Walkthrough

You'll be facing the Colossus for the first time here. Avoid its attacks (right analog stick), fighting off the enemy soldiers at the same time. Attack the giant's hand whenever it's placed on the platform you're standing on. After a few hits, Colossus will become paralyzed for a while. Jump to the catapult on the left and use it (R1) to hit the giant with a rock. Now, jump on the catapult and quickly tap (O) to launch yourself into the air. You now have to press the buttons displayed on the screen in the correct order (it's simple this time - just [], []. []. []) and the battle will be over. If you make a mistake, you'll have to start over.

3 - Rhodes - Walkthrough - God of War 2 - Game Guide and WalkthroughDive ([]) and smash through the barricade (R1) - Rhodes - Walkthrough - God of War 2 - Game Guide and Walkthrough

Dive ([]) and smash through the barricade (R1). Get out of the water and up the ladder. You'll see a save point to the right. Use the lever in the back of the screen to turn on the conveyor belt. Jump across using your blades (R1). Go further, open the door and defeat the enemies there.

Go towards the back of the screen. The Colossus will stomp on you. Defeat yourself by tapping (O). Climb the wall on the left.

4 - Rhodes - Walkthrough - God of War 2 - Game Guide and WalkthroughTime to battle the Colossus for the second time - Rhodes - Walkthrough - God of War 2 - Game Guide and Walkthrough

Time to battle the Colossus for the second time. Try to stick close to it, attacking its hands whenever possible. It's a good idea to use Poseidon's Rage here (L2+O-tapping). When you stun the enemy three times, jump to the other side of the platform (R1) and press O when you are near its other hand. Now press the button sequence: /, /, X, X.

Second phase of the battle is identical to the first one. Repeat the whole process. The button sequence this time is O, O, [], []. Before the battle is over, you'll have to free yourself from the enemy's grip by pressing R1 and L1.

5 - Rhodes - Walkthrough - God of War 2 - Game Guide and WalkthroughTake blue orbs from a chest and go through the gate - Rhodes - Walkthrough - God of War 2 - Game Guide and Walkthrough

Take blue orbs from a chest and go through the gate. When you turn right before the archers, you'll see another save point. Go right (use the corridor just before the save point). Defeat enemy soldiers. There's a movable pillar on the left side of the room. Destroy the statue that's blocking it, then grab it (R1) and place on the button that opens the door. Don't let go of the stone key - load up your kick (X) and send it under the gate to the next room. Now stand on the button yourself, and when the gate opens, quickly roll under it.

HINT: Before you go any further, you can push the pillar through the corridor on the right and gain access to three chests: two with experience and one containing the Urn of Gaia (screenshot below).

6 - Rhodes - Walkthrough - God of War 2 - Game Guide and WalkthroughPlace the pillar on the next button and go to the elevator - Rhodes - Walkthrough - God of War 2 - Game Guide and Walkthrough

Place the pillar on the next button and go to the elevator. Activate it using the lever. When you're up, attack the Colossus' eye.

Climb the wall to the right. Go cross the platform until you reach the door. Destroy a window and you'll be able to jump through it. You have to cross this area using the wooden planks. First, jump down and deal with all the archers, as they will surely knock you down when you're crossing one of the planks. Eventually you'll reach another save point. Slide down using the hanging chain. Defeat all the enemies, refill your health and mana, then open the gate and leave.

7 - Rhodes - Walkthrough - God of War 2 - Game Guide and WalkthroughYour goal in this boss battle is to get the sword that's stuck in the stone in the middle of the arena - Rhodes - Walkthrough - God of War 2 - Game Guide and Walkthrough

Your goal in this boss battle is to get the sword that's stuck in the stone in the middle of the arena. In order to do that, you'll have to stun the Colossus three times. You can use a huge piece of metal that's laying on the right to hurt it. Approach the sword and try to take it out. It will suck out some of your powers. The easiest way to stun the enemy is to stand near the sword and jump up whenever it hits the platform. You can then hit it a few times without any harm. When you get the sword, approach the Colossus with it and strike it a few times (jump away from its "vacuum"). At last, Kratos will enter the monster's mechanical body.

8 - Rhodes - Walkthrough - God of War 2 - Game Guide and WalkthroughGo left, fighting off the soldiers and jumping from one platform to another - Rhodes - Walkthrough - God of War 2 - Game Guide and Walkthrough

Go left, fighting off the soldiers and jumping from one platform to another. When you reach a huge mechanism that's glowing blue, approach it and press R1. Go up even further. You'll see a rope - grab it and get to the other side of the "tower". Go along the flaming planks until you reach second part of the mechanism. Destroy the chain that's holding it and press R1 again to absorb its energy.

9 - Rhodes - Walkthrough - God of War 2 - Game Guide and WalkthroughGo further up the Colossus' body - Rhodes - Walkthrough - God of War 2 - Game Guide and Walkthrough

Go further up the Colossus' body. When you reach a wooden circle that's placed in the middle of the shaft, grab it with your hands and climb around it. Destroy another piece of the mechanism and climb the rope to reach the monster's head. Use the lever to lower the pendulum, then hit it a few times to make it move. Use the lever again to pull it back up. You can now use the rope to reach the other side of the room (the pendulum will block the energy rays that kept you from going there). The final piece of the mechanism stands before you. Destroy it and jump down a few steps to leave through the giant's mouth.

10 - Rhodes - Walkthrough - God of War 2 - Game Guide and WalkthroughKratos is seriously wounded - Rhodes - Walkthrough - God of War 2 - Game Guide and Walkthrough

Kratos is seriously wounded. Go towards the sword. Another cut-scene will commence, in which the God of War gets his butt kicked by Zeus.

11 - Rhodes - Walkthrough - God of War 2 - Game Guide and WalkthroughAfter a long set of cut-scenes, you'll be partially reborn - Rhodes - Walkthrough - God of War 2 - Game Guide and Walkthrough

After a long set of cut-scenes, you'll be partially reborn. Climb the wall to leave the abyss. It's not difficult, just keep using your weapon on demonic hands that try to catch you. When you are back up, approach the only living soldier (on the left side of the screen) and talk to him. Now get on the Pegasus' back and fly towards the next level.

You have to defeat some flying enemies - you can attack them using your blades ([], /). When you get rid of them, you'll be attacked by a bigger flying beast. First you have to ram into it (hold X), then quickly press [] and tap O to break its neck. Another enemy will approach you - the rider will throw energy projectiles at you. When the Pegasus starts to fall, quickly grab a hold of it by moving the left analog stick.

Hit the Titan's finger a few times and he'll move it so you can go under. Grab the wall and slide down. Go along the walls until you reach the other end. Use the save point if you feel like it.

2 - Lair of the Titan - Walkthrough - God of War 2 - Game Guide and WalkthroughGo towards the back of the screen - Lair of the Titan - Walkthrough - God of War 2 - Game Guide and Walkthrough

Go towards the back of the screen. You'll meet a new type of enemy - a Minotaur. To defeat this adversary, you have to weaken it using conventional blows and then press O to perform a fatality. Go further, get the experience from the chest and grab the rope to reach the opposite side of the abyss (first you have to destroy a piece of mechanism that's blocking it).

3 - Lair of the Titan - Walkthrough - God of War 2 - Game Guide and WalkthroughGo forth until you get outdoors - Lair of the Titan - Walkthrough - God of War 2 - Game Guide and Walkthrough

Go forth until you get outdoors. First destroy the scaffolding to get rid of the archers, then take care of a Minotaur. Jump up and slide down the rope. Approach Prometheus and talk to him. Hit him a few times and he'll fall down and hang on a chain (gee, that helped a lot). Go down using the chain that's tied between two of the fingers.

Go to the right and grab the wall to get to the lower platform. You'll find a chest with red orbs and a save point. Go right and defeat the enemies. At the end of the platform you'll find a chest that contains a Gorgon Eye. Climb the wall here and enter the cave. Get across the abyss using your blades (R1). Go forth until you face the Gorgons.

5 - Lair of the Titan - Walkthrough - God of War 2 - Game Guide and WalkthroughBe careful when fighting Gorgons - they can turn you into stone and then tear you to shreds with just one blow - Lair of the Titan - Walkthrough - God of War 2 - Game Guide and Walkthrough

Be careful when fighting Gorgons - they can turn you into stone and then tear you to shreds with just one blow. Always roll when they try to target you with their green rays. When you see a O marker above one of them, be sure to execute a fatality. When you defeat them, you'll soon reach another save point and a red orb chest. You now stand before the Titan that's inhabiting this island. Run across the platforms with the right timing, so that he doesn't blow you away with his breath. Ignore the imps that fly around you, there's no reason to fight them now.

6 - Lair of the Titan - Walkthrough - God of War 2 - Game Guide and WalkthroughWhen you reach the other end of the room, you'll see a glowing piece of rock - Lair of the Titan - Walkthrough - God of War 2 - Game Guide and Walkthrough

When you reach the other end of the room, you'll see a glowing piece of rock. Tear it down and you'll open up a passage. Go left - you'll enter a room with a large group of enemies and a fireplace in it. You can throw the enemies into the fire (O + []) to unfreeze the nearby chests. You'll get a lot of experience and a Phoenix Feather for it.

7 - Lair of the Titan - Walkthrough - God of War 2 - Game Guide and WalkthroughGo back to the stone platform that leads you straight before the Titan's gigantic face - Lair of the Titan - Walkthrough - God of War 2 - Game Guide and Walkthrough

Go back to the stone platform that leads you straight before the Titan's gigantic face. You'll get a new power - Typhon's Bane. Use it (R2 + []) to blind the Titan. Go back across the platform. You have to defeat some enemies along the way. Deal with the archers by shooting them with your bow. Use the blades to jump to the right, the way you came here (you have to destroy a cage protecting one of the hooks, use your bow again). Smash through the rocks and go towards the previously seen save point.

8 - Lair of the Titan - Walkthrough - God of War 2 - Game Guide and WalkthroughGo back all the way to the cave entrance - Lair of the Titan - Walkthrough - God of War 2 - Game Guide and Walkthrough

Go back all the way to the cave entrance. Use the bow to destroy a cage protecting another hook. Jump to the platform on the left, then shoot the wooden mechanism. A rope will fall down, enabling you to climb up to the upper level. Once there, use another rope to slide down. You'll end up near Prometheus again. Shoot him a few times and you'll finally end his torment. For that, you'll get a new ability - Rage of the Titans (L3+R3). From now on, we'll be calling it ROTT.

9 - Lair of the Titan - Walkthrough - God of War 2 - Game Guide and WalkthroughDefeat the enemies and once more climb to the upper platform - this time the rope can take you near the cave entrance - Lair of the Titan - Walkthrough - God of War 2 - Game Guide and Walkthrough

Defeat the enemies and once more climb to the upper platform - this time the rope can take you near the cave entrance. Smash its gate with ROTT. If you're out of ROTT-energy, there's a chest nearby that will let you refill it.

10 - Lair of the Titan - Walkthrough - God of War 2 - Game Guide and WalkthroughGo through the cave to the other save point - Lair of the Titan - Walkthrough - God of War 2 - Game Guide and Walkthrough

Go through the cave to the other save point. You'll meet some new enemies here - just a little more powerful, standard soldiers. Go back along the walls to the place where you left Pegasus. Attack Titan's fingers with ROTT on, and you'll finally free your flaming horse.

Time for another Pegasus-based sequence. You have to defeat a group of Griffin riders. At the end you'll fight a slightly more powerful mini-boss. He's not very different from the previous riders, just remember to chase him (X) each time he flies away. At the end of the duel you have to enter a proper button sequence. Keep your focus, because when the battle ends, you'll have to press a certain button in the exact moment when you're prompted to - if you miss it, you'll fall to your death. If you do it right, you'll be climbing a vertical wall on one of the mysterious islands.

Climb up. On the left side of the platform you'll see two chests (one contains a few types of orbs, second - a Phoenix Feather), and on the right - a save point. There's a ladder nearby, climb it and defeat some guards. Go up even further. You'll be attacked by some guard dogs - the most efficient way of dealing with them is to press O in order to kick them. Before you take the elevator, go to the right and get the experience from the chests (you can also get some red orbs for hitting the hanging skeletons). Pick up the body that's laying there (it's barely visible) and place it on the elevator, then pull the lever to go down.

Go back a few steps and go towards the back of the screen, along a tight path. Watch out, as it will collapse under your weight - you have to time your jump right. You'll reach a room where you have to defeat some more guard dogs as well as a three-headed, Cerberus-like beast. To deal with the latter, first hit it with your blades and then press O to tear away its heads. Regain your strengths using the chests in the back of the screen.

3 - The Temple of Lahkesis - Walkthrough - God of War 2 - Game Guide and WalkthroughDestroy the statues on the right side to get some experience - The Temple of Lahkesis - Walkthrough - God of War 2 - Game Guide and Walkthrough

Destroy the statues on the right side to get some experience. Under one of them you'll see a moving piece of stone - grab it and place it as indicated on the left screenshot below, then use it to get to the upper platform. In there, you'll find a save point. Grab the wall to the left and go down. Get some experience and health points, then climb the ceiling. Go along the bottom side of the bridge, defeating the enemies. When you see a glowing blockade before you, smash it to pieces and reach the other side of the bridge.

You'll now encounter Sirens - they are quite similar to Gorgons, but use sonic attacks instead of stone-turning. Always keep evading their attacks. When you defeat them, jump on a small platform to the right and climb the chain. Go along the ceiling to get to two chests (smash the chain that's blocking your way) - one of them contains a Gorgon Eye.

This battle can be tough, as you probably don't feel all that comfortable with the controls yet. In the first phase, Theseus will use his spear to attack you. Take advantage of the fact that your blades have greater range and keep him at a distance, rolling all the time. Don't try to attack him with any combos and stick to single blows ([]). After a while, your opponent will activate the second side of his lance and will start to summon energy beams from the floor. Luckily, they are very easy to avoid. When you deal enough damage to him, he will jump on the nearby roof and start shooting projectiles at you. Avoid them, using your bow to hit him whenever possible (it's good to have lvl2 Typhon's Bane, as it gets a lot faster then).

It's a handy little item that lets you slow down time. Swim back into the main room and stand on a button near the movable pillar. Slow down time (L1+R1) and jump back up to the upper level. Now stand on another button to lower the statue's arms, slow down time again and run forwards to stand on them. After a short scene attack the statue's head, then jump down behind it and take a Phoenix Feather and some experience from the chests. Jump out through the broken window.

You'll face some wild boars and cyclopses here. You can deal with the animals by simply executing a fatality on them (O). Cyclopses are very resistant to damage and require some effort. When you bring all the enemies down, magical barriers surrounding the place will vanish.

Moving the right one will be a bit more complicated. First use the lever to lower the nearby platform, then place the statue on it, take the elevator back up, jump on it and kick (R1+X) the statue so that it flies all the way to the central bridge. Place it in the right spot. When both rays are blocked, you will be free to go further.

You can get some orbs from corpses hanging along the path (use the /-based attacks to reach them). A little bit ahead Kratos will meet his old adversary - a Barbarian Warlord. Before the duel commences, you have to enter a correct button sequence in order to prevent Kratos from getting hit.

The Barbarian will use his hammer to limit the arena. Be sure to stand somewhere around the middle when he does that, or else you'll fall into the swamp and die. You have to defeat 3 units of zombies that he summons. Ignore the boss himself and focus on his minions, always using O against them.

When you defeat all the zombies, the barbarian will grow to humongous size. Use the traditional jump-attack-jump pattern, avoiding his hammer attacks at all cost. Don't try to hit him more than 2 or 3 times at once. When he gets back to his normal size, you can be more confident when attacking him. Avoid his spiritual attack by rolling around the arena. When he's weak enough to perform a fatality, do so - first you have to get his hammer (quickly tap O), then repeat a random button sequence. After you finally kill him, you'll get yourself a new weapon: Barbarian Hammer.

When the barbarian dies, some more zombies will appear in the area. You can test your new weapon on them, or just use O to quickly finish them one by one. Leave this place by using the blades to jump across to the back of the screen. Go forth until you reach the Temple of Euryale.

Go right when you reach the door with Medusa carving on it. You'll see a save point and a green orb chest. Go further right and watch a short scene. You'll find a key by the dead soldier's body. A few enemies will appear. Defeat them and go back near the temple. This time go to the left of the main gates. There are a few undead skeletons here - you can perform a cool fatality on them once they're weakened.

1 - Temple of Euryale - Walkthrough - God of War 2 - Game Guide and WalkthroughYou'll reach a door that can be opened using the key you found - Temple of Euryale - Walkthrough - God of War 2 - Game Guide and Walkthrough

You'll reach a door that can be opened using the key you found. A little bit to the right of the door you can find a red orb chest (it's hidden behind a dark pillar). A few steps ahead there's another chest - this one contains a Gorgon Eye.

You reach a big square, where you see a cut-scene with a soldier getting on a Cyclops' back. To eliminate such "teams", you first have to take down the rider (press O and rotate left analog stick). When he's down, eliminate him (preferably using fatality-based blows). The Cyclops is best dealt with from a reasonable distance. Learn to recognize his blows in order to know when to evade. If you can perform a fatality on him, you'll get a Cyclops eye. Gather 20 of these and you'll unlock a bonus costume for Kratos. (NOTE: this CANNOT be performed during one playthrough of the game, there's simply not enough Cyclopses!)

Now stand on the button in the middle of the room and you're free to go.

HINT: When in this room, activate your bow and notice that you are able to target the plants to the right, revealing a hook that can be used to jump onto the platform there. You'll find yourself a Gorgon Eye and some experience this way.

You'll reach a huge bog that you have to cross using the turnstiles placed on big metal wheels. Enemy soldiers will not make it any easier. This puzzle is a little irritating, because enemies spawn endlessly here and usually don't let you to use the turnstiles for long enough. A good way to eliminate them is to throw them around (O + []). When you reach the other end, you will face a Titan Minotaur. This enemy looks far more dangerous than he really is. He doesn't react quickly to your blows and you can execute a powerful combo each time you jump near him. Just remember to jump away each time he's about to swing his arms. Execute a fatality as soon as possible.

Knock over the pillar (R1) and go along the wall, then grab the liana and reach the spot where you saw the fighting human soldier. Open the door to the right to reveal a time-stopping statue. Use you Amulet (L1+R1) and jump along the rotating wheels all the way to the conveyor belt with medusa rays shooting over it. Maneuver through them, avoiding combat, and destroy a grate that's blocking your way.

HINT: If you get back to this location when possessing the Golden Fleece (and it's a long way to go back, unfortunately), you can use it to reflect the medusa rays on the conveyor belt. By doing so, you'll get a Gorgon Eye, a Phoenix Feather and the Urn of the Gorgons.

Use you blades to jump to the opposite platform. Destroy the three statues. There's a movable pillar behind one of them. Push it in order to get back near the beginning of this area.

Talk to him, then grab his body and throw it on a conveyor belt a little bit ahead (Kratos is a really bad role model). Before you go through the newly opened passage, go further towards the back of the screen to find a Phoenix Feather.

Destroy the broken clockworks and you'll reach Cerberus' chamber. The three-headed dog is not really that difficult - despite being a kind of sub-boss, it's actually easier than some of the regular opponents. Its attacks are quite slow and you can execute long combos against it. When you bring it down, you'll get the Golden Fleece.

Use the lever to the right, and a nearby statue will start to throw fireballs. Stand on its line of fire and press L1 in the exact moment a projectile hits you. That's how the Golden Fleece works - it deflects all projectiles if only you manage to press L1 at the right moment.

When you go past the big mechanical wheel (part of the mechanism that you destroyed by throwing the dying soldier into it), smash it to pieces and you'll find a Gorgon Eye behind it. Go back to Temple of Euryale.

Stand on the platform before the main entrance to the temple and press L1 when the statue unleashes its rays at you. Get inside and defeat all the enemies there. Go down the ladder. A difficult fight awaits you there - lot of enemies at one place. If you run low on health, there's a chest with green orbs on the right side of the room. Use the turnstile and quickly run through the tunnel to the right. Use the door to open the gate. If you're not fast enough, you'll be crushed. Jump down to the newly opened hall. You'll now fight Euryale.

2 - Temple of Euryale - Walkthrough - God of War 2 - Game Guide and WalkthroughIn the first phase of the battle you have to use the Golden Fleece whenever Euryale tries to petrify you - Temple of Euryale - Walkthrough - God of War 2 - Game Guide and Walkthrough

In the first phase of the battle you have to use the Golden Fleece whenever Euryale tries to petrify you. If you let her turn you into stone and don't free yourself fast enough (by shaking the left analog stick), you'll surely die on the spot. You can avoid her tail attacks by jumping, rolling around is not that useful in this battle. Each time you succeed in reflecting Euryale's projectile, she'll drop some blue orbs for you. Use them to deal damage through Chronos Rage.

When you deal enough damage to this disgusting creature, she will climb one of the pillars in the back of the screen. In order to attack her, you'll have to use magic moves (or get close enough, but magic is far better here). Her attacks are easy to reflect as long as you feel good about using Golden Fleece. In order to get to the final phase, you have to knock down both pillars by pressing fatality button when prompted.

The final phase itself is very similar to the first one. The only difference is that Euryale is a little faster and more aggressive. Use a lot of magical attacks, some Rage of the Titans wouldn't hurt either. You finish the battle by executing a standard fatality.

3 - Temple of Euryale - Walkthrough - God of War 2 - Game Guide and WalkthroughWhen you defeat Euryale, you will collect her head - Temple of Euryale - Walkthrough - God of War 2 - Game Guide and Walkthrough

When you defeat Euryale, you will collect her head. It will enable you to turn your enemies into stone. You select it by pressing "up" on the d-pad, and then pressing L2 and holding []. The idea is to smash the petrified enemies to pieces before they regain consciousness.

Try out your new power on few enemies that attack you, and a passage will be opened for you. Use a save point if you want to and go to the next hall. Use the turnstile in the middle to expand a hook. Now use the lever on the right, slow down time (L1+R1) and swim under the raised grate. Use the underwater lever to keep the grate open. Use another turnstile and dive again to find another lever. Two new grates will open - use quick swimming (holding and letting go R1) to get to the other side before they close again. Use the third turnstile (there's a stone door near it, smash it to get a Gorgon Eye).

Before you reach the ladder, check out the room just before it, on the right. Use the turnstile (whoops) near the statue and you will be attacked by a bunch of enemies. When you defeat them, use the turnstile once more. Slow down time (L1+R1) and run up the ladder, then quickly use your blades to jump through all the hooks you've lowered. Phew, now that was a long one!

Go along the corridor, defeat the imps and go through the planks. Grab the edge of the stone to the right and get to the other side. Another Titan Minotaur awaits you. It seems to be a little tougher than the previous one, but is still pretty easy. The technique is the same: jump near it - throw some punches - jump away when it's about to attack. When you defeat it, go further, along the corridor and up the stairs. Use the lever to find yourself back in Destiny's Atrium.

Climb the wall at the back of the screen to get a Gorgon Eye. Jump to the right.

This location is very similar to Destiny's Atrium. First, defeat three phantoms. There's a door near the save point, go through it. There's a difficult battle to be fought here: you stand against three mages who summon Minotaurs. Deal with the mages first! The quickest way to get rid of them is to use the fatality button and quickly tap O when prompted. Repeat this a few times for each mage and you'll be done.

Go along the plank to the left and open the door at the back of the screen (there's a chest with Phoenix Feather to the right of it).

Defeat a group of enemies and approach the passage. You'll see a save point. Jump along the hooks to the other side of the abyss. You'll see a statue that enables you to slow down time. Stand on a barely visible button hidden in the branches and press L1+R1 to stop time. Move along the extended branches to the central platform. Jump to the right and grab another Phoenix Feather. Stand on a similar button and get back to the original platform. Repeat the whole operation, only this time reach the platform to the left of the central one. Defeat the enemies and stand on the next button. Slow down time and run towards the central platform, then to the left. Another boss waits for you here. This time it's Perseus. In the first phase he's invisible. You can't do anything about it, so just watch the water carefully to notice where he is. Stick to the bright parts of the pool. Use combos with the widest range possible to get him. When he's weakened, you'll see a O marker above he's head. Press the desired button to make him visible at last. From now on it only gets easier. Perseus is a moderate swordsman and you'll have no problem with putting him down.

Use the turnstile to raise the platform, then quickly go up the ladder and use the Golden Fleece (L1) to reflect the other ray. Now you can finally go further!

Use the bow to defeat the two distant enemies and jump (using the hooks) to the other side. Go all the way to the huge, open space. Climb a wall and use the lever that's up there. Jump down and go through the door. Approach the dead bird and take the spear from it. You've just obtained another weapon, the Spear of Destiny.

5 - The Hall of Atropos - Walkthrough - God of War 2 - Game Guide and WalkthroughDefeat all the enemies - The Hall of Atropos - Walkthrough - God of War 2 - Game Guide and Walkthrough

Now use the turnstile to turn it 180 degrees, then place it back where it was. You can now go back to the lower platform and slow down time, which will let you get to the other side.

HINT: You might have notices that there are three apparently unreachable chests in this area. The solution is simple: grab the time-slowing statue all the way to one of the little pools along the corridor, slow down time and run towards the chests as fast as you can. The gate won't fall down fast enough to block you and you'll be free to grab a Gorgon Eye, a Phoenix Feather and the Urn of Olympus.

You'll see a save point far in the background. Go towards it if you want to. Go up the Titan's nose and jump from one platform to another (use the wings) until you reach the entrance to some kind of organic cave. Defeat the enemies (flaming bats are easily dealt with by pressing O when near them) and pull a movable hunk of stone (bone?) towards you. You can use it to reach a niche on the left to get a Phoenix Feather. Now stand on the other side of the movable pillar (in the back of the screen) and pull it towards you, so that you can enter the next room and still use it to reach the upper platform.

A third and final Titan Minotaur will greet you in the next hall. This battle is a little bit different than the previous ones, because at a certain point of the duel, he'll hit the floor so hard that it will start to soak in lava. When it happens, grab the wall in the back of the screen and stick to it until the floor comes back out. You will have to jump from side to side in order to avoid enemy's projectiles.

2 - Atlas - Walkthrough - God of War 2 - Game Guide and WalkthroughWhen you defeat the enemy, it will transform into a solid rock - Atlas - Walkthrough - God of War 2 - Game Guide and Walkthrough

When you defeat the enemy, it will transform into a solid rock. Move it in a way that will enable you to jump onto a platform in the back. Once you're up, go further and jump down to the left - there's a Phoenix Feather in a chest. Now, jump right and you'll reach a huge hall.

You'll see a save point to the left. Go towards it - attack the tentacles that hold a rock nearby and wait for it to get stuck on a little isle in the middle. Go after it and jump on it, then hit the isle. Press R1 in an appropriate moment to save yourself from falling down and jump to the other side, using the wings.

Destroy a piece of rubble in the next room to restore the air vent to its functionality. Spread your wings above it and you'll be lifted so high that with no problem will you reach the upper platform in the back. You'll find yourself in a corridor with a few bat nests. Destroy them all (it's easy to do that using the L1+X combo). One of them will reveal a ledge. Use it to grab a wall and climb along it, jump and fly to the opposite side, then reach the end of this room (you'll have to destroy a stalactite that's blocking your way). You should see Atlas' face far in the back. Grab a wall and go along the ceiling until you reach the cave entrance.

HINT: Destroy all the stalactites along the way and one of them will reveal a secret passage that will lead you to the Urn of Prometheus (see the right screenshot above).

Go further until you reach the huge room you've already been in. Go along the wall and ceiling to the opposite end, destroy some more stalactites and go on until the end, then drop down to the floor. Unlocked air vent will let you glide towards the exit, that leads to the Titan's giant hand.

Jump down to the nearest platform, then to a circle with a turnstile in the middle. Defeat the enemies and raise the platform using it. Jump further towards that Titan's hand, remembering to glide whenever necessary. Slide down the rope and climb the wall. Use the hooks to reach a stone platform.

You'll end up in an area with two movable pillars. Use the ramp to place one of them on the other, and then use them both to reach the upper level. Once there, you can jump along the wall to the lest and grab a Gorgon Eye.

4 - Atlas - Walkthrough - God of War 2 - Game Guide and WalkthroughGo further and climb onto the wall - Atlas - Walkthrough - God of War 2 - Game Guide and Walkthrough

Go further and climb onto the wall. There's a difficult arcade sequence before you. The idea is to jump from one side of the wall to another so that you don't get hit by the falling rocks. Don't be hasty and stick to the inner parts of each sides - it will make your moves more efficient. When you reach the top, you'll have a quick chat with Atlas, who will grant you a new power (Atlas Quake). Use it to defeat a group of weak enemies. After a while, the Titan will transport you back on the surface.

Jump towards the palace that's visible in the background. Grab a high platform and use it to jump and glide to the left one. When you're on the higher level, you can go back a few steps ("towards the camera") to grab a Gorgon Eye. Next, jump to the platform with green orb chest on it, and finally to the palace entrance.

1 - Palace of the Fates - Walkthrough - God of War 2 - Game Guide and WalkthroughUse the lever to the right of the central ramp - Palace of the Fates - Walkthrough - God of War 2 - Game Guide and Walkthrough

Use the lever to the right of the central ramp. There's a difficult battle here, with some Cyclopses and small goblin-like soldiers. Focus on the latter, defeating them by performing throws. There's also an archer here - let him be until you deal with all other enemies, as he will respawn endlessly.

Grab a lever on the right side and rotate the mechanism to the left. When you reach the end, grab the next handle and continue until you reveal a passage. Once inside, use the lever and the walls will start to rotate. Looking from the left, get inside all of the surrounding rooms and grab the items from the chests. The most important item - Crank Handle - can be found in the first room. When the fourth room is revealed for a brief moment, pull out a movable stone pillar to block the mechanism. If the imps give you a hard time here, use Chronos Rage to put them down.

2 - Palace of the Fates - Walkthrough - God of War 2 - Game Guide and WalkthroughGo forth and turn left at the junction - Palace of the Fates - Walkthrough - God of War 2 - Game Guide and Walkthrough

Go forth and turn left at the junction. You'll reach a rather big courtyard, which is the central element of the whole palace. Go up the ladder and use Crank Handle on the turnstile. Use it and slow down time, then jump towards the back of the screen, taking advantage of the fact that flamethrowers are temporarily blocked. There's a Phoenix Feather in a niche near them.

Run to the end of the corridor and use the lever. You now have to quickly return to an air vent that you passed, spread your wings above it and glide above the grate before it closes again. It's not easy and you will probably have to try it a few times. A good advice is not to wait until the air raises you, but head for the gate as soon as you spread your wings.

When you reach the room with some dogs and soldiers in it, defeat everyone and go through another gate. Destroy a scaffolding and push the stone block to the next room.

Push the stone to the right, all the way to the end. Pick up the Translator and place the block on the button that he was sitting on. You now have to get him safely to the book that you passed a second ago. A few waves of enemy soldiers will stand on your way and try to kill him before he can help you. Stay close to him and use high range combos (L1+[]!) and spells (Chronos Rage, Atlas Quake). The most difficult phase is obviously the last one, when you are facing the infamous mages again. Remember to take them out in the first place.

When the situation is under control, grab the translator and force him to read the spell by tapping O. After a short scene take The Key of the Ram from the door and open it, thus getting back to the courtyard.

Use the newly acquired key to open the door with a goat skull carving. Go forth and refill your mana bar. You will be trapped between the two moving, spiky gates. The only way to get out of here is to defeat all the enemy soldiers around. The best way to do this is to use Chronos Rage. When you succeed, go further into the next section of the palace.

There's a Phoenix Feather in the room with Gods' statues - it's behind Athena, so you have to smash the likable goddess to pieces. Go further by destroying the cracked wall to the left.

Grab the ledge and go to the right. When you go past the second wall, you can drop down (R1) to get a Gorgon Eye and some experience. Reach the save point and go further, then jump down. In this room you have to kill three sirens by "sacrificing" them to the flamethrowers. How to do that? Possibly the best way is to use Head of Euryale to freeze a siren in the flames' range and wait for them to become active again. Each defeated siren drops some blue orbs so you shouldn't run out.

Swim through the blood-filled canal (watch out for the spikes). When you surface on the other side, face the camera and walk towards it a few steps to find two experience chests.

There's a complicated riddle in the next room. First, get on the ceiling by climbing one of the walls, and destroy all the stalactites. Jump back down and pull the lever at the back of a frozen bird. Grab the mirror that appeared and place it so that it reflects the sunbeam in the lower-right corner of the room (see screenshot below). It will point a spot on the rotating mechanism below. Now use the three turnstiles to the right in order to position the golden shield in the spot that's lit by the sunbeam. This way you've unfrozen the owl and can rotate it by using another turnstile. In order to leave this room, just make it face the main gate and use it to unfreeze it. If you take some time to unblock all other surrounding rooms, you'll also get a Gorgon Eye and a Phoenix Feather.

A difficult battle awaits you here. You'll be facing three three-headed dogs, which also spawn smaller versions of themselves from time to time. It's a good idea to use Chronos Rage and Atlas Quake here. After a while some heavily-armed monsters will enter the arena, which also won't make your life any easier. First take care of all the dogs, though. Remember to use fatalities as often as it is possible.

Go to the right to get a Gorgon Eye and a decent number of red orbs (there are two chests in the back side of the platform you're currently standing on, and two more are hidden below, just jump down to get them). Go through the gate near the save point and jump down.

You will see a time-slowing statue - push it to the end of this corridor. You'll see another translator commit suicide. Place the statue in a way that's shown on the screenshot below. Use the lever to open the gate. Go into the room and enter the magical mirror. You'll be transported a few seconds back in time. Slow down the time (L1+R1) and run towards the translator. You should be able to catch him before he jumps off the cliff. If you don't manage to go it, try once more. When you succeed, repeat the "interrogation" procedure. Take the Warrior's Skull and open the door.

1 - Auditorium of Atropos - Walkthrough - God of War 2 - Game Guide and WalkthroughUse the turnstile to open the air vent and glide above it to reach the lever - Auditorium of Atropos - Walkthrough - God of War 2 - Game Guide and Walkthrough

Use the turnstile to open the air vent and glide above it to reach the lever. When you turn it, you'll empower the air supply. Use the turnstile once more, and this time the air will lift you to the ceiling. Go to the opposite end of the area and drop down. Use another turnstile to get back on the courtyard.

Two Cyclopses will attack you. When you defeat them, another two will take their places. It's not a difficult fight, as these monsters are quite slow and have limited range. Open one of the doors using the Warrior's Skull, and refill you health and mana. Enter the elevator and grab the chain in the middle to lower it. A group of skeletons will attack you - be quick about eliminating them, because if you take too long, you'll get crushed. Use your high-range magic spells here, preferably Chronos Rage. When you reach the bottom, you'll also have to open the gate manually - do it quickly or you'll end up dead.

Use the rope to get across the lava pool. Archers will bring you down for a moment - jump towards them and deal with all enemies in there. Especially watch out for gorgons! When you are done, jump back down and continue to the next room. In here you'll be attacked by a group of weak soldiers.

2 - Auditorium of Atropos - Walkthrough - God of War 2 - Game Guide and WalkthroughYou'll notice a kind of archery target on the wall to the right (see right screenshot above) - Auditorium of Atropos - Walkthrough - God of War 2 - Game Guide and Walkthrough

You'll notice a kind of archery target on the wall to the right (see right screenshot above). Use the bow to shoot it and you'll get a Phoenix Feather and a Gift of Magic (immediately raises your magic bar one step!). Use the wings to get to the upper level, near the huge, rotating cylinders. Fly past them, using the air vents below.

You're in a room where you see Phoenix's ashes behind solid bars to the left. For now go through and jump left. Defeat the skeletons and enter the room with spikes coming out of the floor.

1 - The Phoenix Chamber - Walkthrough - God of War 2 - Game Guide and WalkthroughUse a lever to lower the spikes - The Phoenix Chamber - Walkthrough - God of War 2 - Game Guide and Walkthrough

Use a lever to lower the spikes. Run quickly towards the opposite wall to the left and hit it a few times to reveal a time-slowing statue. Stop time and go back to a safe position away from the spikes before they reappear. Lower them again and approach a dead soldier's body ahead of you. Take Hail of Boreas and once again go back to the lever. Use it for the third time and use the turnstile (it's where the soldier was), and when you see that the grating to the right is high enough, stop the time and run through it. You might not be able to get through this room in your first try, it takes a little practice.

There are three chests in this corridor - one with a Gorgon Eye and two with red orbs. In order to get to them, jump towards a dark wall a little bit further, grab a ledge, then jump towards the opposite platform.

2 - The Phoenix Chamber - Walkthrough - God of War 2 - Game Guide and WalkthroughThis is where it gets serious - the most frustrating puzzle in the game is right before you - The Phoenix Chamber - Walkthrough - God of War 2 - Game Guide and Walkthrough

This is where it gets serious - the most frustrating puzzle in the game is right before you. There're green and blue chests before the entrance - if you don't need them badly, leave them for later. Grab the movable pillar to the left and push it forward. You have to push it towards the lever in the center of the room (and place it a few steps before it so you can safely turn it), and then near the left button at the end of it (then stand on the right one, which will enable you to use the hook to leave the room).

The problem is that you are under heavy fire from imps and irritating, damage-resistant zombies. The single best technique to use here is the Chronos Rage (preferably on lvl3). Use it to stun the opponents and cover yourself when pushing the pillar. If you run out of mana or health, get back to the chests that you left before entering (provided that you did).

At the end of the room there are two buttons: the left one opens the gate and the right one lowers a grappling hook that can get you out of here. To make things easier, place the pillar a few steps before the left button and let the flames push it back so that it activates the button with a few second delay. There are experience chests in surrounding rooms - if you have the patience, do something about them. I definitely didn't.

3 - The Phoenix Chamber - Walkthrough - God of War 2 - Game Guide and WalkthroughYou finally reached the Phoenix' ashes - The Phoenix Chamber - Walkthrough - God of War 2 - Game Guide and Walkthrough

You finally reached the Phoenix' ashes. Push the run and a platform will be lowered. Push the urn again to place it in an opening, then use the lever at the center of the room. You'll be attacked by some skeletons and overgrown, pig-like beasts. After a cut-scene use one of the air vents to get to the stairs behind the save point on the right. Once you get to the top, look around for a Phoenix Feather and an experience chest. Use the elevator to get back to the courtyard.

Open the door with Boreas' carving. Look in the left part of the next room to find a Gorgon Eye. Climb a rope and blow the horn that you see there. Jump back to the courtyard and use the newly appeared platforms to reach another door.

4 - The Phoenix Chamber - Walkthrough - God of War 2 - Game Guide and WalkthroughUse the lever and reach the ceiling - The Phoenix Chamber - Walkthrough - God of War 2 - Game Guide and Walkthrough

Use the lever and reach the ceiling. Destroy the two chains that hold the door and pull the movable pillar from the wall. Lower the elevator back, defeat the archers and place the pillar so that it jams the mechanism raising it (it has to be half-way on the platform and half-way still on the floor). Use the lever again and jump up the jammed platform to the upper level. Destroy the chain and you will be free to go.

Use the turnstile to extend the two pillars on the courtyard, then go further to the right. Use another turnstile to free the path. You'll be attacked by a mysterious warrior. He's quick, but his blows don't deal any damage you. Beat him and it'll turn out that he's a Spartan, Kratos' soldier who came here bearing some bad news.

After a longer scene you'll be fighting another boss, an abomination called Kraken. At the beginning you won't be able to fight, only shout insults towards Zeus. Another cut-scene will commence soon.

5 - The Phoenix Chamber - Walkthrough - God of War 2 - Game Guide and WalkthroughActivate Rage of the Titans (L3+R3) and the beast will let go off you - The Phoenix Chamber - Walkthrough - God of War 2 - Game Guide and Walkthrough

Activate Rage of the Titans (L3+R3) and the beast will let go off you. Attack its left tentacle, hitting the visible red scar. When it looses the grip on the pillar, place the dead soldier's body on a raised plate there to activate an air vent. Glide above it to approach the monster's mouth and hit it. Repeat it a few times and Kraken will smash one of its tentacles into the air vent. Grab that tentacle (one of its sides functions like a climbable wall), approach the "knee" and destroy it. Repeat the whole procedure once more, thus cutting off another tentacle. Now attack scars on both tentacles that it's using to hold on to a platform - do that quickly enough and it'll be done for.

Go over the monster's head towards the Phoenix. Grab a Phoenix Feather and a Gorgon Eye, then get on the flaming bird by pressing O.

Swim to a statue at the end of the hall and use the grappling hook to get to a crystal, then destroy it - you will restore the time this way. To get further, you have to make both bells sound at the same time. Jump towards the right one (the Chronos bell) and move it by tapping L1 and R1. Slow down time, get back to the central platform and use the battering ram to activate the Zeus bell. If you manage to do it quickly enough, the statue at the center will crack. Now dive and use an underwater lever. Return to the surface and use the turnstile so that the blue crystal gets into place. Use the lever again. You can now rotate the battering ram - make it face the statue, then activate it once more. You can find red orb chests in the following corridor.

1 - Temple of the Fates - Walkthrough - God of War 2 - Game Guide and WalkthroughYou finally face the Sisters of Fate - Temple of the Fates - Walkthrough - God of War 2 - Game Guide and Walkthrough

You finally face the Sisters of Fate. Your first opponent will be Lahkesis. The battle against her might seem difficult at first, but it gets fairly easy once you master using the Golden Fleece to reflect her projectiles (by pressing L1 in the exact moment a magical bolt hits you). Not only will you deal damage to her by successfully performing this move, but also make her drop numerous green and blue orbs. Chronos Rage is also helpful here. Besides, use short []-based combos. Once you deal enough damage to her, she will start to electrocute the floor from time to time. When you see that she's about to do that, you have to use the grappling hook to get into the air (R1). Jump from one hook to another if she's firing missiles at you. When Lahkesis is up in the air, the best way to hit her is still reflecting her projectiles. To finish the battle, execute the fatality when prompted (you have to use one of the hooks to reach her in the air).

2 - Temple of the Fates - Walkthrough - God of War 2 - Game Guide and WalkthroughAfter a short cut-scene, Atropos will take you back to the times of the first God of War, to your epic battle against Ares - Temple of the Fates - Walkthrough - God of War 2 - Game Guide and Walkthrough

After a short cut-scene, Atropos will take you back to the times of the first God of War, to your epic battle against Ares. You can't let her destroy the giant sword that you later used to defeat the god. There are lots of weak enemies wandering around the sword - attack them using your Chronos Rage to gets lots and lots of orbs. You can't run out of mana this way. Use your magic against Atropos herself as well. You might also try to reflect her projectiles with the Fleece. At the end of the battle you will once again have to repeat a certain button sequence.

In the final stage of the battle you will combat two sisters at once. Focus on Lahkesis in the first place. She fights in the same way as she did before, but uses a lot less projectiles, so you have to use your own weapons more. Try to avoid Atropos' energy beams. Whenever you deal enough damage to Lahkesis, stop the time and deal with Atropos. You should be able to break one of the mirrors each time you get the chance to attack her. Repeat it a few times and finish the battle by executing a fatality.

3 - Temple of the Fates - Walkthrough - God of War 2 - Game Guide and WalkthroughContinue on to the next room, grab the wall and go along the ceiling to get to a balcony on the upper level - Temple of the Fates - Walkthrough - God of War 2 - Game Guide and Walkthrough

Continue on to the next room, grab the wall and go along the ceiling to get to a balcony on the upper level. If you want to, you can glide to the ledges on the left and on the right for some red orb chests. Go further to see the last Sister of Fate - she's apparently "a little" different from the ones you've already defeated. Smash through the wall on the right and go do along the stairs.

This battle sequence is actually your last meeting with any regular enemies in the game. There's a real handful of difficult opponents to defeat here, and new waves will appear each time you advance one segment. Use the energy barriers that appear from time to time and divide the platform into smaller pieces - when the enemies are split into smaller groups, they are a lot easier to deal with. Save your health and mana and don't use chests if you don't have to - you can always save them for later.

When you finish this bloody marathon, you'll end up near H. R. Giger-inspired gate. Hit the nails of the sculpture and you'll be able to enter.

Move under the spinning blades and you'll reach the Sister's ugly body. Turn left. Hit the moving limb a few times to stun it. Quickly use the turnstile when it's not moving. Stun it once more and use the nearby stairs to glide towards the green orb chest. There's a climbable wall nearby. Use it and go along the ceiling to the other side until you get caught by other limb. Free yourself from its grip and destroy the two skeletons that block the grating. Jump down, use the turnstile and reach the upper platform just as you did a moment ago.

1 - The Loom Chamber - Walkthrough - God of War 2 - Game Guide and WalkthroughYou are on a middle level - The Loom Chamber - Walkthrough - God of War 2 - Game Guide and Walkthrough

You are on a middle level. To get any further, you have to immobilize three of Clothos' limbs. Stun the first one with a few hits, then jump on a nearby rope, climb it up and use the lever to lower the anchor (you have to be quick about it). Go to the next limb - use the lever that will open a small hatch in the floor (don't miss the red orb chest there). Stun the limb and use the lever again to catch it inside the hatch. To immobilize the final limb, grab a mechanism that's positioned near the second one and rotate it counter-clockwise until it's placed under small, metal hands. Stand on the button that's on the mechanism itself (a blade should appear) and stun the final limb. Push the mechanism so that the blade is directly over the limb. Stun it again and you're done. Grab the newly appeared rope and go up.

2 - The Loom Chamber - Walkthrough - God of War 2 - Game Guide and WalkthroughClotho stands before you in all her, ahem, glory - The Loom Chamber - Walkthrough - God of War 2 - Game Guide and Walkthrough

Clotho stands before you in all her, ahem, glory. You can slow down time freely during this battle. Her hands can be stunned just like the limbs you've dealt with before - use that whenever you need to pass near her unharmed. Go to the right and up the wall, then smash the two skeletons to bits. Grab a handle of a rotating mechanism and push it two segment to the left to position it under a hanging chain. Use the lever in the middle to bring about a giant blade. Rotate it (R1+left analog) and use it (R1). Successfully enter the button sequence and the Sisters of Fate will finally be history.

HINT: You can easily regenerate your health during this boss battle. Use one of the levers to bring in a dead body - Clotho will smash it and thus unload a huge amount of green orbs.

3 - The Loom Chamber - Walkthrough - God of War 2 - Game Guide and WalkthroughGo through the door at the back of the screen and get upstairs - The Loom Chamber - Walkthrough - God of War 2 - Game Guide and Walkthrough

Go through the door at the back of the screen and get upstairs. Dive under the gate. You'll reach a huge, magical mirror. Use the lever to bring up the destiny threads. Run down and choose Kratos' thread (it's a little to the right from the center of the room). Rotate it until you see your battle with Zeus in the mirror. Stop the time and run back to the mirror and jump into it.

The last thing to do is to battle Zeus himself. The first phase is quite simple. Zeus will summon some sirens - don't mind his attacks but focus on them instead. When you execute a fatality on a siren, Zeus will be stunned for a few seconds. Use it to attack his fist. After a few hits you will move on to a more classical duel.

The key to victory here is your Rage of the Titans. Activate it and attack Zeus with long, massive-damage combos. His blows won't harm you seriously when you're in ROTT mode. Don't hesitate to use up all of your mana on Chronos Rage here - you'll regain it in a few seconds.

When you deal enough damage to Zeus, you'll be able to regain the Sword of Olympus - get ready to tap O before executing the command. Throw a piece of rock at him (R1). The whole process will have to be repeated for the second time. When you ultimately win, Kratos will suddenly... surrender. Get ready for the most insane button-guessing mini-game ever created. You have but fractions of a second to respond to each prompt. Even worse, you will have to watch an unskippable cut-scene each time you fail and retry. When you finally make it, you'll see a long cut-scene and find yourself back into the Sisters' palace.
